I made a mistake thinking redcafe is more a football forum than a United forum, expecting them to treat United fans and other teams fans the same. Wasn't the case. They had a thread naming Barca fans the worst and were spouting all kinds of insults and I reacted. Which got me banned.

I don't preach about Pep. Whatever lauditorious comments I make about him are well informed and backed with arguments.

I don't think they were mentally defeated so much as simply getting outclassed by City.

What I respect most about Guardiola is that he doesn't have a Messi or Ronaldo in his team. And let's face it, his team is not intimidating at all, so the fear factor is also out of the window. He's winning mostly thanks to his tactics.

The same can also be applied to Spurs and Liverpool, although to be fair to them Pochettino and Klopp didn't spend nearly as half the money as Guardiola. They just happen to be great managers. But I still think that even though Guardiola has spent more than both of them combined, he's tactically superior.

Last season they were all over the place when pressing, they didn't understand how to do it properly and just looked like a bunch of headless chickens.

Of course Pep made his own mistakes but the improvements in adaption from the players is obvious so the Pep was there last season argument doesn't really work.

You only have to watch any game this season to see the difference, they barely get hit on the counter at all anymore.

Teams will do everything in their power to put together teams which counter the champions, plus it's very hard mentally to repeat consistently.

Especially in a league where most teams are capable of spending upwards of 60-120m.
