Buffon apparently asked for a 1 year renewal !!
Reading between the lines he seems willing to act as Szczesny back up.

Buffon
He isn't one to get on the way of anyone. He said whatever it is, its up to Juve. Would be awesome to have him stay in the team. It can postpone my depression of his leaving one year more.

I would absolutely extend him for a season
Have him in the reverse of Szczesny this season, Buffon playing a handful of Serie A games and the Coppa Italia games, why not?
Gigi ffs

Otherwise the names thrown around for 2nd GK are Consigli and others like him.

I guess Szczesny is ready to be our main keeper but one more year of Buffon wont hurt anybody if he's willing to give Szczesny more space.If Buffon is ok with that I would be happy to have the legend with us for at least one more year.

Yes he is ok with it !!
By the way when asked about retirement, he answered "it's Juve or nothing"

Very lousy first half, were missing so many key players right now. Thankfully, Bastien took the absolute worst sending off of all time
Sturaro hugging that left wing is the stuff of nightmares
So its 10v10

Chievo gonna Chievo
Literally gave us the three points with those two self-inflicted red cards, although we still worked for it.
Looks like were lacking a lot of sharpness and with so many key players out, maybe its unsurprising because we have been forced to lean on the key players we do have available

I missed most of the match since i was high off the moroccan hasheesh & and if you combine that with a game that implies Chievo... u already know
Anyways i was awake to see Khedira's goal CREATED BY Bernardeschi who came in for Padoin 2.0
Does not disappoint this kid, he's damn good. Dybala-Bernardeschi combo will be worth a fap or two i suppose.
16 games left to play and i wouldn't be surprised if Napoli/Juventus is crowned Serie A champions on the very last days. It will be a very close battle as we all know and every result matters. This Chievo game (away) was a pain in the ass on paper, the kind of game that makes you drop points when you have a depleted squad like yesterday, glad we passed the test.

I might have posted it before, not sure. I thought Napoli's away game to Atalanta was the ideal chance to pass them on the table. If that wouldn't materialize (it didn't) then I thought Napoli will widen the gap a bit in the coming matches.
Things will be tight for the scudetto.
Games we play on the left, games Napoli play on the right:
@Atalanta CI -
Sassuolo - @Benevento
@Fiorentina - Lazio
Spurs CL - RBL EL
@Torino - SPAL
- @RBL EL
Atalanta - @Cagliari
Atalanta CI -
@Lazio - Roma
@Spurs CL -
Looks grim for the near future. Its gonna take a lot of work. Maybe Lazio will do us a favor.

Good news for the squad. Tomorrow's game in Bergamo sees Marchisio back in it.
Buffon, Chiellini, Matuidi and Sandro back to the starting line up. 4-3-3. Bernardeschi a possible forward.
Allegri keeping the consistency of fielding stronger Coppa lineups than in Serie A or CL

Cuadrado needs surgery
40-60 days of recovery.
He was having a great season. Its sad. I hope Dybala comes back fast and well. We might be without our 2 best forwards this season (for me) against Spurs.

Shame about Cuadrado, he has been excellent this season. In the big games he's such a good player for us.
On the other side of the coin, thankfully we have some sort of attacking depth this season in contrast with previous seasons, and for Cuadrado, he will still be back to fitness for an important stage of our season

Juventus XI: Buffon; De Sciglio, Benatia, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi; Douglas Costa, Higuain, Mandzukic
Buffon back
Our best back 4 right now [sorry Rugani]
Matuidi back
Same attack as the weekend, hopefully more fluidity between them

Re: Juventus 2017/2018 Serie A and Coppa Italia thread
Great goal from Higuain.
I just saw our fixture list and after Samp its 14 games with only 1 goal conceded!! Ridiculous. The only goal came from Verona of all teams when we won 1-3. We went from leaking goals left and right to being extremely tight and now have the second best defense in the league with 15 GA. Napoli is at 14, Roma and Inter at 17.
In the mean time we also lost the best attack, Lazio passed us to 57 goals. We stand second at 52.
The defense now makes me more confident for the CL ties. Big prop to everyone involved and to Benatia and Asamoah for improving so much. They seemed either useless or a potential disaster before the season started.

If Higuaín hits his final form then we will make the CL semi final minimum

Higuain needs to improve his movement on the field and also his ball control.
If our defense can neutralize Kane & Eriksen we will eat Spurs alive. Not an easy task but Chiellini/Buffon are well proven and Benatia in top form.
Can't say i am worried about our previous 2 Serie A games either, if Max isn't too complacent in his starting 11s we can win both. For the rest of the season i'd say we have ~ a 6 pts margin, if we drop more than that Napoli will be champions.

If we defend like this and Higuain is clinical, we'll be a force
Napoli 1-0
Milan 2-0
Two of our most impressive victories in Serie A, the Milan game being when we really turned things on defensively and the Napoli game being a spectacular effort
Then you have Roma 1-0, Higuain should've scored but we got bailed out with Benatia's goal. Again, an impressive display at the back [except for the Benatia back pass]
Inter 0-0, Higuain without a decent chance for the game. We stifled every attack Inter had before it even started. Mandzukic dropped the ball in this game.
I can go on, but you get the idea. If we defend like this, we put ourselves in the best possible position to win every game. It doesn't matter much where the goals come from but an on form Higuain that can score with half a chance will propel us forward much easier than any alternative scorer on our team. He's still far and above our best option to score goals.

Agreed with all that. Frankly i am 90% confident about the Spurs duel. Our defense is the key and i have faith in our troops especially Chiellini.
Higuain is not in form currently, and it goes merely unnoticed because of this successful streak. Not a big deal for the next few games so he has plenty of time to "wake up" or go back to his standards, in other words. Rest of the team is doing well without him
