Missed PK was huge... although it wasn't a pk to begin with.
We could have scored 5 in this one too. Neuer was huge.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
Neuer reminding all why he is considered one of the best gks in the world.
Where are the Zidane detractors now? Zidane is our lucky charm.
Job well done for us today, I trust we will finish the score in the 2nd leg.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
I don't understand why Zidane didn't put in Morata after taking off Benz and Bale. Bayern were 1 man down so of course they parked the bus. At that point the only threat inside the penalty box was Ronaldo, if he had put on Morata we could've scored another.

Right! Morata would have been extremely ideal for the last ten minutes. Speed and technique against a rather tired Bayern back line. Instead, fking James who looked like he really didn't want to be on the field. Useless sub that added nothing.
That being said, a huge damn win against Bayern and I gots no complaints at all.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
Apart from the goal what did you think of Nacho nick I know Muller is no Lewa but Nacho was wonderful today
Kroos was up for it today. Great game ffom him. Casemiro too who completely shut down their most creative midfielders. Apart from Bale and Modric (until the red card) it's hard to criticise anyone. Even Marcelo was excellent. No card for Ramos either, all in all a wonderful game

Nacho was at fault on the goal... good game otherwise. That said, damn lucky that Lewa wasn't there.

Whether you like them or not, let's give these two people credit for today; Zidane and Ronaldo. What zidane has done with this team in terms of organization and man management has been superb. You might not agree with his tactics because we cross the ball to death.. but it works. If you want a team that plays great football and gets raped every game, you can always support arsenal, although they just suck period now.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
@farfan, nothing controversial there. Martinez made a clumsy foul he didn't need to which was a clear yellow. Ronaldo took advantage of the touch and milked that foul

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
with the amount of chances we had in second half, we could have buried the tie there.
we got the win though, less worried now for what's next at least

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
I think people have to realize that we have a super veteran team that is likely not very motivated in fodder games, especially in the middle of the season. We struggled in those "dog day" months of February and early March as a result. Now that the motivation is naturally there, we're playing more to our true abilities imo.

that's why you mix in young players that will push the old guys and compete harder in the league

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
We couldn't end the tie and it's not just because of Neuer.
After 70th mint Bayern were dead, lost intensity, motivation. CR's 2nd goal? Bayern didn't even moved a bit only CR's marker moved w/him. Asensio had a free room to cross. At that time Neuer had 8 saves.
Key moment to end the tie, the last 15 mints: We needed to put pressure on them and try to score. i know Player were tired and happy with 2 goals. But to end the tie you gotta stay strong till last mint. Bayern had one on target shot while Real had only 2 On and 1 Off target by Marcelo in last 15 mints. We had more Possession, what we did? We kept passing each other in attacking 3rd. Only if we could've tried to end the tie. We had James-CR-Asensio up front for last 10 mints. I understand in these mints we could've concede but nope bayern weren't in that position. We could concede and still had a chance in 2nd leg, Bayern after giving 3 away goals, Wouldn't.
90: Ramos offside goal and Just why ramos started the run from On-side Position? [i know why, just saying should've get back in-time] and Oh Ronaldo couldn't have score that last chance where he lost his foot.
Anyway, Still happy with 2 away goals.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
We can't criticise ZZ for neglecting our midfield against Atleti and criticise for taking care of it against Bayern. I know Bayern were on the ropes but we have a habit of conceding really late goals due to loss of concentration. He took away Ronaldo's defensive responsibility and subbed on midfielders as a result Bayern were getting nowhere in our half. Going into the game i would've been super happy with a win so this result is great

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
Zz neglected RM midfield vs atleti? All the guy did was play the scrub isco in place of the average kroos for the last quarter of the game, and the midfield collapse cause isco is a scrub that does nothing more than dribbling, stop blaming zidane for believing the hype you posers are pushing, now trying to criticise zidane for playing the flop you like instead of blaming the flop directly, typical Madrid fan behavior.
At nick your argument is rubbish cause those you want to compete are scrubs, and as seen with morata and isco no matter how scrubby they play your lot will lie and say its vast improvement for the sake of it, so just come out and say you hate the team cause the players aren't hyped enough for you, your clearly bothered every time the team wins.

I was so thankful it was Muller that was CF and not Lewa. Not only he is in rotten form, the man really doesn't play CF well at all.
Also, welcome to the Madrid side of GL Sean, say something not nice about Benzema and watch the magic that happens.

Re: Real vs Bayern UCL QF
Bale injured is a bit of a blessing really. Since he came back from his previous injury, he really was struggling for any relevant form. Meanwhile, the likes of Isco, Kovacic and Asensio could do with some proper game time and have shown more form during his injured time.
