The greatest corruption of our time? - Page 3 Empty Re: The greatest corruption of our time?

Just saw the highlights.

First of all 3 of those goals were calamitous defending, just like how a side from a league like Ligue 1 would normally concede.

As for the 3rd PK goal, that isn't a penalty anywhere except when you're playing Barca in the Camp Nou stadium and the penalty is in the favour of Barca. Same for the 5th.

Every big team gets favours nothing new but boy Barcelona players have perfected the art of diving especially at their camp nou stadium to such an extent that they just know how and when they need to extract a penalty and almost 80% of the refs fall prey for it.

Without a balanced ref who isn't falling to the pressure of Barca players and the crowd and especially when you're defending a lead, it's almost impossible to beat them because you have so many conditions going against you. One thing you know is you're not going to be lucky when you play them in the 2nd leg at their home.

Having said that, PSG had plenty of chances to bury them to the ground and they dint take it so they should be blaming themselves for most part.

And what exactly was hateful in what I said ?

I've mentioned PSG have themselves to blame for most part because you don't concede goals like yesterday when you want to beat big teams.

That doesn't mean one is exempt from judging the PK calls because Barca had 2 non-existent penalties called in their favour and PSG had 2 penalty claims as well which should have been called especially if the ref is giving away PK's for fouls like the one on Neymar and Suárez. There goes any chance of the luck element for the opposition team because you need them in knockout comps like this.

This is not any conspiracy. This is a clear case of a ref falling to the pressure of the team(and their big players) and the crowd.

My comment was mainly for some of the other comments made in this thread.

You aren't wrong from judging a PK, but your comment as to say it's impossible to win at the Camp Nou, which you mainly attribute due the ref being the reason makes it seem no one can play a fair game here. Home advantage applies to many teams not just us, the pressure comes from many teams and their players and their fans also refs fall into it all the time with others.

At the end of the day luck element was in our favor and we took it.

As I said earlier you can blame a non-existent penalty all you like but failing to protect a 4-0 is damn embarrassing. Any other top team would exploit Barca on the counter with the gaps they left. Barca fully deserved to go through. PSG are no better than the Las Palmas' and Alaves' of this world.

Dyabla literally dived last week against Napoli Laughing

Lewandoski pushed into Kos and dived yesterday. Whilst offside. Shit happens. End of the day PSG bottled it.

Marquinhos had all eyes on Suarez (and was making contact) and no eyes on the ball. Suarez overreacted, yes. But that's a penalty more times than not.

PSG did blow it, but the referee was obviously taken up in the excitement and made a grave mistake. At the end of the game in extra time if it is questionable, good referees do not call the Neymar dive as a penalty. Seria A will implement VAR in 2018 and this is the exact type of event that would undergo review. The result of the review would have been a yellow for Neymar for simulation.

just watched this

epic stuff

referee had a fantastic game, except for the Suarez pen which is more than weak

let's not forget that he booked Suarez for diving before, booked Busquets for moaning, Cavani for demanding Pique send off.
He had an incredible performance in a high pressure game.

Not sure how PSG can moan about one arguable ref decision when they bottle a 4:0 lead, including conceding 3 goals after the 88th minute Laughing

Trapp is stealing a living lmao

PSG are the biggest bottlers of all time

The ref did not call the Neymar one a penaty, the official behind the touchline did. Ref initially gave goal kick.
It's a contentious one, and that is reflected in the decision making. Definitively more of a pen than the last minute one.

Best referee in world football.

However, it seems even the Spanish side themselves saw no way back following Cavani's strike after Verratti claimed Barcelona players admitted to him on the pitch that the tie was done.

'With Cavani's goal, we gained some peace,' Verratti told L'Equipe. 'I then spoke to the players of the Barca, they told me that it was finished.

'Take three goals in seven minutes, I cannot find an explanation, it's football.
'This is a game I will never forget. I hope it will serve as a lesson to everyone.'

'We must find the strength to raise our heads. You have to be men. We are all sad. We lost 6-1, it's not because of the referee. We are primarily responsible.'

Neymar's one is a clear penalty. There's contact, the player doesn't get to the ball, Neymar was going into a dangerous position, he doesn't dive... what else do you want? Yes, Meurnier slips, but then he headbutts neymar when he didn't have any need. Stonewall penalty.

Mascherano: "Yeah I fouled Di Maria in the box, it should have been a penalty, but when you come back from a 4-0 result I think most of the fault lies within the team that conceded that lead, not whether a ref benefitted a team more or not, there was also a penalty they did not call on Suarez."

Reporter: "But the one that Suarez did get should not have been a penalty"

Masche: "Oh really? I didn't know that. Well to turn it around you also need luck on your side."

Post by BORUSSIA!! Thu Mar 09, 2017 12:20 pm

di maria / masch one may have been a pen. hard to tell with no replay.

neymar one was a blatant pen even with no replay. don't know what the fuss is there. doesn't matter if it's not intentional, he knocks him over as he was about to get the ball. dumb defender got done by the pass and his body wasn't prepared properly to handle it. bad and clumsy defending which deserves to get punished if you knock someover.

i thought the suarez one was a dive until i saw this vid - https://www.facebook.com/FansViscaElBarca/videos/1242870859095982/. he puts his hand on his shoulder but more importantly defender's kneecap clips suarez's back leg. that's enough to knock someone over considering the speed and momentum they're moving at. suarez chose to fall over more theatrically but it looked enough to slow him down (maybe trip him over). so should be a pen. even a red card maybe since last man.
