Our next coach
Third season with Max, and even though we are not 100%, it looks set to be another successful season.
His first season gave a double and a CL final. His second one another double, and after a disappointing group stage (and season start) we went out in a fantastic tie against Bayern. No we are first in the league and look set to qualify to the R16 of the CL. More importantly, unlike last season we are winning without playing our best. On the flip side, we are worryingly unable to beat our rivals so far except for Napoli (Fiore, Inter, Milan).
Allegri has also overseen major changes to the squad with almost every player changing from the squad he took over except for our Italian core (Marchisio + the back line). He has managed to integrate pretty much every player given to him, with special mentions to his handling of Morata and Dybala. Overall for me, Allegri has been awesome and definitely better than I expected.
That said, 3 seasons is a common stopping point for a lot of clubs and managers after a successful stint. Allegri signed a 1 year extension bringing him to 2018. What do you guys think? will/should he see it out or will it end this summer? or will we extend until a 5th season and beyond?
Some of the choices I see as possible this summer or in the next 1 or 2 years, the last 3 more likely in a couple of years.
Di Francesco
Donadoni
Paulo Sousa
Simone Inzaghi
Grosso
Zidane
Our coaching history is overwhelmingly Italian so Di Francesco makes all the sense in the world, as he is the new big thing. Donadoni has been more than solid for Parma and Bologna. Convinced he can do a good job.
We love to appoint former players so Sousa and Zidane have a shot. Sousa in particular has all the credentials to make him a solid candidate, plus his relationship with Fiore is broken and should be easily available this summer. Zidane is a big question mark but he is a former legend and has had a very successful start at Madrid, he should be available within 2 seasons or so.
Finally, Simone Inzaghi is new to the top flight but looks like the real deal. Young, exciting ideas, seems very smart and his selections have been on point. Grosso has everyone at Juve impressed with his youth teams and seems like a shoe in to coach us at some point. Its just at matter of when, not if, with him.

Re: Our next coach
Its not to do with performances, I like Allegri and want him to continue. I'm a big supporter, but he was signed until 2017 so its not unlikely that the board are already thinking about this. It was only this summer that he made a 1 year extension.

Re: Our next coach
Good point good point. Juve is the type of club that will keep players or coaches depending on the player's or coaches' will. Allegri isn't the type of coach who will leave suddenly. If he is doing well and he is happy, he will stay IMO. We haven't heard any problems between Allegri and the board, because he is bringing home the results. In the Champions League, technically, if we win against Zagreb at home, we automatically qualify and that is the main objective now.
Just like in Milan, he stayed as long as he was winning and doing well, until the club sacked him. I will be surprised if he decided to leave or the club decided against renewing with him. We need him, just like Athletico need Simeone. A great team should have consistency with coaches and style of play if they are going for huge success.

Re: Our next coach
Agreed, I don't think he will want to quit. He always says how well he gets along with the society. If he screws up this summer I can see us sacking him. But most likely he will see out his contract until 2018. After that, probably not. Allegri always speaks of an early retirement.
The reason I included Inzaghi, Grosso and Zidane was because of the 2018 date, not this summer. In which case I'd see Di Francesco, Sousa and Donadoni favored.

Ah, my mistake. Quickly scanning the thread I read 2017, should've read more closely.
It's definitely going to be different not seeing Buffon in goal or a player like Barzagli who is probably one of the most underrated players of our great run of form over the recent few years.
As for the managers, I just hope it is someone positive who does away with the 3-5-2, it fits the current group of players but it does not need to remain a pillar of the team beyond this group. Personally, I feel it is outdated and as our side grows in quality, more sides are inclined to sit back and play defensively against us. With the 3-5-2, we are down one attacker each time and that difference is immeasurable. In 50/50 games, or games when it is us that does the countering, the formation flourishes but I would like to see a manager with tactical flexibility, like Allegri has showed us.

Re: Our next coach
Not just the formation, we need a more proactive attacking mindset from the next manager. I'm not talking about ruining our hard work defensively by going zeman balls deep all in, nothing like that. But we need to start acting like a big club in big European games, looking to impose our game plan not just side ways and backwards pass it until we can create a half opportunity. We should be creating chances for fun in the group stage like so many similarly good or even slightly inferior squads seem to do.
Our 'fluke a goal then try and defend the entire game on a small lead' shtick needs to disappear, or our chances of winning a CL will.

Re: Our next coach
I haven't lost faith in Max and I think what is happening right now is result of injuries, tired players and Marotta not getting another CM. The biggest thing that I can blame is Marotta. He had 2 months ffs and he didn't get 1 f* CM.
Di Francesco is the one I want after Max or Inzaghi if he continues impressing and proves that he ain't one season wonder.
Donadoni is a small club manager for me but I like him.
But I guess if Max goes Conte will come again.

Yeah but don't you think that Allegri knows something we dont? Ofc he will make mistakes everyone does its football. But I think that the main problem this season is that until last week we had only Mattiello for a sub in the CM position while Khedira, Pjanic are dead tired. Pjanic can't run for more then 60 mins but in the last game he was really doing great. I think Max knows that our midfield doesn't have the legs for more then 60 min and that's why we play this kind of football and tbh Its the only way in order not to lose to many points.
Buying Higuain and Pjanic signals that we intend to play attacking football but we lack the stamina right now. With Witsel everything will change we'll have qality replacement but mark my words with Witsel we'll play 4-3-1-2 and we are already going to 4 man backline and Max is doing that slowly.

Re: Our next coach
Of course Allegri knows more than we ever will about top level management, but if somebodies ideologies in football are based around us playing sub standard offensive football and trying to 1-0 our way through tough games then it doesn't count for much
I thought Allegri was doing almost everything exceptionally well at the beginning, even forcing us in to an unfamiliar 4-3-1-2 in Europe and getting fantastic results with it despite us suffering from Vidal then Pogba injuries.
But he has been a coward at times this season and injuries or not our team looks like eleven individuals with no idea how to interact and co exist with each other on the pitch and that's on management. Not to mention the fact we can barely supply our record signing goal record breaking striker with any chances in big games is pathetic. Higuain won't be around forever, I for one would like to make sure we get the best use out of him whilst he's still here rather than have a clinical finisher starved of service.

What I am saying is that the injuries and the fatigue of the current and the only CM's we had are maybe the problem why Allegri plays that kind of football. We have to wait and see I guess.

I doubt mister conspiracy would be a good match for us. Don't see either our management, or him, going for it. I can see him going to NT much more after Ventura.
