Re: Ibrahimovic
You cant leave Ibra in the final third alone, he has to be marked, and one player will not do it.
This is where the technical player comes into play, the Willian, the Hazards, the perhaps Mkhiki! But this united team lacks the technical players.
Rashford is the gareth bale of United but he will not be enough for now.
You find the above combi and United will join the top four.

Re: Ibrahimovic
I personally thought he did well TBH.
That's already 2 times a GK he faces had a game of his life. Did well and will do better.

He's your best player! Have patience.
And ask your stubborn manager to deploy a technical player that can draw more players for Ibra to score the goals.
Pogba is slow as a snail.

Re: Ibrahimovic
I agree. Mourinho has no right to feel frustrated or angry right now. He himself has created this mess. The sooner Mkhi and Martial comes to the 11, the better for everyone else the team and mou.

How can people really say he's a fraud when he's 35 pushing on 36? How many players can play at the top level at that age

This. Just put Bailly when fit in place of Smalling. Thats a decent team to have when on form and can match any of the big teams in the league. And thats why even amid this slump I am confident we will make top 4(realistic aim for me at least personally).
Plus Mourinho is too clever a coach to keep on playing underperforming players risking his job in the process. He is already pressure after his last season exploits with Chelsea (not dropping some players (Ivanovic) at all and in the process costing his job, so it is unlikely he will repeat the mistake).
Zlatan might get one more chance, or two more max. If he continues to be as bad as this he will be phased out, it is as simple as that. The only worry I have regarding this issue is the fact that even if Zlatan (and Lingard) get dropped , it may not be necessarily Mkhi and Martial replacing them. Rooney and Memphis might get reinstated instead.

Re: Ibrahimovic
Zlatan always has a phase of the season where he hits a rough patch of form. Even in Serie A this happened.
He will come good again.

Re: Ibrahimovic
Is Ibra suited to Mou's 4-2-3-1 ? In order for him to perform at his usual level he has to drop deep and at the moment him and Mata /Pogba when played as a 10 occupy the same area. He also needs pace around him. Put him in a 433 (which conviniently suits both him and Pogba) surrounded by 2 pacey wingers and he'll perform. He still has 2 seasons in him imo

Re: Ibrahimovic
Not a whole lot of games where a team shoots 35 times and can't score... as long as chances are created, he'll come good. This was a good attacking game for Man U imo.

You play with 9 men behind the ball and expect a 35 year old to bail you out of games.
Also, for the love of god change your sig it makes me cringe.

Buy a 35 year old player and then call him a fraud because he doesn't pull their sorry asses out of the mess they're in

Re: Ibrahimovic
So is Ibra Utd's new scapegoat then. At this rate they'll go through the whole team before the end of the season. From the highlights RG posted in the PL thread it just looked like Ibra was unlucky. There weren't any glaring 1v1 chances that he missed. In fact he actually got his shots on target with that many defenders in the box unlike the others who had their shots blocked all the time. Not to mention he had some good moments outside the box too.
Ibra has never liked himself to be used as a target man. That's one of the reasons Lagerbäck was sacked from Sweden, he kept using Ibra as a target man and he wanted the ball played to his feet. Ibra plays best with a number 9 ahead of him. He isn't your typical 'stay only in the box' type of player, he likes to get involved in the build up. You have to pair him with a Rashford or a Martial to get the best out of him. A 442 would not only suit him but a bunch of other players too like Pogba who can play on the left and do his thing, Martial/Rashford who don't have to be used as glorified wingers and the defenders who'll get more support

Re: Ibrahimovic
He missed two 1v1s Hala... and took 12 shots. He's playing hard though. Ibra goes through periods like this. Both Pogba and Ibra are used to great players around them and having the likes of Herrera, Lingard, Rashford, Rojo, Valencia, etc. namely, crap, has been tough for both. They expect movement and passing that those guys are incapable of. Both are learning how to play with average teammates.
Pogba was great yesterday. Ibra is coming around. Mou isn't doing either any favors with his lineups.

True. Makes my point even clearer. Why scapegoat a 35 year old you signed on a free.

Well I know the answer to this one of course.
Rooney is on the bench so their usual go-to scapegoat isn't available.
And god forbid they just accept their team isn't that successful at the moment.
Better throw a tantrum after every second game, for the 4th year in a row now.

Ibra will come good. I'm sure of it unless he gets injured. It's only 2 months in.
In fact, I'll wager he'll have 30+ goals all comps when it's all said and done.

Like calling Shevchenko a fraud based on his team in Chelsea tbh, but realistically nobody with sense was that silly.
