Wait... you're already getting it in Namibia? (That's where you're from right?)
Or have you gone to England?
Not coming to denmark until the end of the month...
Going to watch Hacksaw this weekend though

Ah okay.
Hate the wait for all the Oscar movies. This year is the first in a long time where all the Oscar movies come out in time for the awards. La La coming out the same week.

Hacksaw Ridge is so freaking great. The last half is proper amazing. It's so gory and horrifying, never seen anything like it. Most brutal war scenes I've seen.

Arrival The heroic film that 2016 deserves.
There is so much more out there, that our language does not contain for our minds to comprehend. This is what Arrival's message is to its audience. It is spectacularly directed, conveyed and shot. It has a moody and vibrant tone which escalates the feeling of uncertainty that this film keeps up from start to finish. The tone reminded me a lot of another sci-fi, alien-invasion movie we got this year - Midnight Special. I let out a soft "wow" at the end of the film, when everything came full circle.
Below has a little piece of a review I wrote, it contains and continues on what I wrote above and it may hint at spoiler's though, so don't open if you have a mind that likes to tackle conclusions.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Disagree. Maybe it has to do with me doing linguistics and the Sapir-Whorf theory as one of my subjects this year, but it was not as complex as Interstellar to me. Maybe just as mindblowing though, if not more.Don't Call me James wrote:The concept was even more complicated than Interstellar, probably not as mindblowing though.
+1Don't Call me James wrote:The pacing does get a little slow in the second act and this is not a film for action junkies who are expecting Edge of Tomorrow type invasion.

Really think Hugo Weaving is going to get an Oscar nomination for his role in Hacksaw. Garfield has a great chance also, depending on how great he is in Silence and if he's a lead or supporting role.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Looking at Arrival, Amy Adams will probably get one. Renner maybe one for supporting. But don't see either of them coming close to winning it. The film really isn't one that serves for its performances to blow you away. Don't think any sci-fi movie, especially in recent years, has been able to do that. It's always more about the concept of the movie.

I think I'm the male lead there's already three locks in Denzel, Caffleck and Keaton. Can't wait to see the rest of the movies.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Just back from Arrival.
What a film. What a film.
Great acting (Amy Adams is getting an Oscar nomination), great directing and great score. I actually thought it was paced really well and there was never a dull moment and every scene felt important. Their handling of languages was really intelligent. Not seen something like this before so it was definitely a fresh approach. Also liked how they handled the Aliens and the interactions. Wasn't cliche for once.

- Spoiler:
- That twist was incredible. When I saw that picture Hannah drew of her parents and that bird in the cage. It clicked man. Everything clicked and I just said....holy shit. Everything clicked so well.
That was probably the strongest part of the film. The end montage was fantastic too. And it made you question yourself if you would do the same thing as she did with her daughter.

- Arrival:
- Yeah man. Definitely one that deserves a rewatch to see how all the little references and connections again knowing about the reveal. Again agree, they handled the linguistic part so well, I did the Sapir-Whorf theory this year, so I have no complaints about it. Beautiful original concept.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
I have to say that it's in my top 5 films of 2016. Which is weird because it looked generic as hell from the trailers and I was not interested at all.
For once I am glad trailer misled me.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Yeah it's definitely best movie of the year for me so far.
The realization of the twist was just so emotionally satisfying. It was such a unique feeling, unlike many other films where you get your mind blown with a twist, this twist felt very different (in a very good way). Villeneuve is the master of suspense and the way you're invested in figuring out what's going on is beautifully paid off when it finally clicks for you.

yup saw it this week myself.
Bang Average. 6.8/10. Absolute jobber villain. Terrible dialogue. Terrible writing.
Unbelievable shitty joker story. Can't fault Jared Leto at all. They gave him like 5 scenes at best.

They cut an hour worth of his scenes
It was a terrible movie. Worst I have seen in Cinema probably. On par with Spectre.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
apparently they left them out of the 'extended cut' too lol, ppl are mad
and fully agree with the villain being terrible
I could overlook it being average since it's supposed to be an origin story for the squad I suppose..thing is they gave everyone besides Deathshot and Harley about 1 minute focus..like why should I care about them at all? movie was overly reliant on hit and miss Harley Quinn moments/jokes.
Very disappointing. Will Smith was a G though. Not even up there with Marvel's worst though for me and I'm no fan of Marvel.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Yup it felt like the whole movie was focused on shitty one liners by Harley and objectification of Harley. The plot and other characters were all background noise for her show

Best scene was the mid-credit scene with Affleck and Amanda. Says it all. Or the Batman/Flash cameo.
