We don't have Pogba money yet we're not broke either.
Proven quality:Marchisio, Pjanic, Khedira, Asamoah
Unproven: Sturaro, Pereyra, Lemina,Mandragora
Dead wood:Marrone, Hernanes
add to that *Matic* and it makes 7 of them. it's very good for the first months of the season since the games matter less. Lemina would not have much play time if someone like Matic comes that why at 23M you have to consider the offer. He could be starter at Schalke after all.
Also i add Marrone but what happens with him ? Is he on loan already or still with the club ? Because we only have 3 club trained players on the squad right now...

Re: - | Transfer Talk | Rumors | News | -
WE need to carry 4 club grown players on our 25 man active roster. Right now I'm only counting two, Audero (our new 3rd string goalie) and Marchisio. I don't believe Rugani counts as club grown.
So I believe we will need to carry both Marrone and Mandragora on our 25 man active roster to meet the quota, which means we will carry 9 CM's...
3 Goalies
9 Defenders
9 CM's
4 Strikers
Buffon, Neto, Audero
Alves, Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Benatia, Chiellini, Rugani, Evra, Sandro
Marchisio, Pjanic, Khedira, Asamoah, Sturaro, Lemina/Pererya, Marrone, Mandragora, NEW CM
Higuain, Mandzukic, Dybala, Pjaca
So we would need to acquire one new CM and sell Hernanes, Zaza and one of Lemina/Pererya, plus Isla. Also, Gabigol may come, but he is under 21 and so won't count against the 25 man roster...

Rugani doesn't count but Mandragora does ? What are the criteria to be a club grown player ?

Re: - | Transfer Talk | Rumors | News | -
I don't think either counts.
We need 4 Italy-grown players and 4 Juventus grown players.
I'll dig out the rules in a minute

I checked, so the player has to be registered in the club for 3 years between the age of 15 to 21.
(We obviously have more than enough of the Italy-trained ones).
So only Marchisio and Audero count.
There is no restrictions on having players under 21 so Mandragora fits there.
It means that to get a 25 player squad we need 1 more club trained player (like Marrone) or 1 under 21 player (like Gabigol).

Re: - | Transfer Talk | Rumors | News | -
The new regulations define ‘homegrown’ players as those who spent at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21 at an Italian club, whether in a youth sector or first-team squad, or even away on loan so long as an Italian club still holds the player's contract.
The ‘club-trained’ rule refers to a player who spent three of those formative years with the team currently holding their registration. While the first definition is commonplace – Premier League clubs are required to have eight such players in their squads – the second goes beyond those rules.
I believe Mandragora will count as club grown as he is only 19, as long as he is on the active roster and spends 3 years with the team...

We need 4 total, Marchisoo and Audero is two. So Marrone is pretty much gifted a spot. Mandragora I believe counts as long as he is on the active roster and spends 3 years with us. So that would bring us to 4. We can have as many U-21's as we want as long as they are not counted in the 25 man roster...

Not quite, we dont have to have all 4, having less is fine but it limits your squad size (U21 players excluded)
so its 21+4club grown+any amount of U21
so we can have 21+2/3 club grown + U21
So we don't really need to have Marrone if the other player we add is an U21 player (like Gabigol is).
Mandragora has only been on our books for 6 months so he doesn't count yet, but he is under 21 so it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the info !
To me it seems Rugani is around the club since many years now. He was bought in 2012 or 2013 then loaned to Empoli (co-ownership). And played for Juventus last season. Doesn't that make at least 3 years registered in the books ?
Don't mean to be a rockhead here but i just don't get it

Rugani was just loaned to Juve before so it doesn't count for us, it counts for Empoli.
We only signed him outright last year in the winter market and kept him loaned.

Alright then.
Was under the impression that we co-owned him for all those years, then bought Empoli's half in winter 2015

can someone translate this please ?

Re: - | Transfer Talk | Rumors | News | -
Then you are right, he was co-owned.
It says:
"Surprisingly, Daniele Rugani can be considered as a club grwon player, and not just grown in Italy like was thought> With the new rules starting next season, every team must have 4 players of each kind. With Rugani, Juventus may enjoy a small difference between the regulation in europe and those in Italy. To be club grown, a player must be registered in the club for 36 months between 15 and 21 years of age. To the 2 seasons spent as a bianconero, Rugani can add the one spent in Empoli in co-ownership."
Good stuff if true.

and thanks for the translation
Where is gigi with his Marotta/Godfather picture ?
So only one spot left, wouldn't mind Marrone instead of Hernanes.
As a 9th midfielder your main role is to scratch your nutsack on the bench and i think Marrone will do it just right, and for less than 3M thank god.

Re: - | Transfer Talk | Rumors | News | -
I think Rugani is still an uncertain. We need more clarification. The rule clearly states the player needs to spend 3 years WITH the registration team, so even if he was co-owned and went on loan by definition that wouldn't count.
I guess Marotta will clarify this at some point this month. I still think Marrone is a lock for the 25 man roster, it does say you have to have 4 club grown players on the roster, Gabigol wouldn't count as he's a non-EU player under 21, so he would be in addition to anyone on our 25 man roster.
Hopefully this all gets clarified by month's end...

It doesn't matter that he is non-EU U21, the only regulation they added for those is that they must have been previously registered (already have a contract) in their previous country. So as to avoid signing a bunch of kids that are not pro.
Being on loan in general also does count for the 3 years spent, only the club with the registration gets the credit though, not the club that received the loaned player.
Not sure how co-ownerships count.

So if true then Rugani would count as he spent one year on loan at Empoli and one year at co-ownership to go along with 2 years at Juve. That's good news...
For Gabigol what I meant was he wouldn't need to count against the 25 man roster, he could be a 26th player if that makes sense. Maybe I'm confusing what you're saying, sorry if I am bro...

He could be 26th or any number, or in the 25. It doesn't matter with the U21. Same as Mandragora.
Its all confusing stuff with these rules.
We just cannot have more than 17 players that aren't either club trained, or italy trained, with the exceptions of U21 players.

Croatian national team coach reveals Juventus interest in Brozovic...
Marcelo Brozovic was one of Inter’s star midfielders last season. The Croatian international also featured for his country at the Euro 2016 tournament. Today Croatia’s national team coach Ante Cacic spoke to Tuttosport about Brozovic:
“Brozovic and Rakitic could replace Pogba. They both have big roles at their current clubs, which has attracted interest from Juventus.”
