Average age of the Serie A teams
Our team is really at the end of the cycle. By 2 seasons Litch, Evra, Alves, Barzagli and Buffon will be gone
Milan the youngest in the league. Berlusconi's young and italian Milan

Sassuolo's 2-1 win over Pescara turned into a 0-3 loss because they fielded an ineligible player (Ragusa) in the match

Makes sense why Juve fans on GL have been stating that Sassuolo are Juve B,Sassuolo's 2-1 win against Pescara reversed to a 0-3 loss due to fielding an ineligible player Link

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Napoli's squad right now :
Obviously they're a bit weaker in terms of the starting eleven but their depth is probably better than they ever had in the ADL era. Massive improvement in terms of the bench.
If Milik gets going, they'd probably have little to worry this season. I think Napoli will be the closest contenders to Juventus once again.
Reina
Hysaj-Maksimovic-Koulibaly-Ghoulam
Jorginho-Allan-Hamsik
Callejon-Milik-Mertens
Bench : Albiol, Diawara, Zielinski, Rog, Gabbiadini, Insigne, Giaccherini etc

Their depth at CB is stupid.
Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Albiol, Tonelli, Chiricheș for 2 spots?

Maybe Sarri plans on using different systems and be more tactically flexible in the process. He certainly has the personnel for that now.

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Tbh I think they're trying to mirror Juve. They're building a more complete tactically flexible squad with no big weakness across any position. That's how Juve built their side and kept adding a lot of depth each year so the weakness isn't felt when 1 or 2 players get injured. Napoli have built the squad in a similar way instead of going all out and splashing big money on one player.
I mean look at Inter. They've definitely bought in quality but they still look incomplete in other areas especially at fullback where the quality on both sides of the flanks is terrible and that could easily come to bite them back at some point in the season.
As I said though, if Milik can get going, they'll do fine. So far so good for him.

Well Albiol is reaching the veteran stage and Chiriches is only good enough to be a squad player anyway, so I don't see anything outrageous about it, particularly given that Tonelli picked up a serious injury after his transfer and they needed cover.
The only issue I see with Napoli's window is their failure to procure a new RW to challenge Callejon but apart from that, they've easily had the best window in Italy apart from Juventus.

Chiriches basically won't play. He was pretty terrible last season, lack of depth at defense was their main issue. They tried to sell him but for whatever reason it didn't go through.
Tonelli also got injured, probably back sometime late October last I heard.
So in the end its a great group. 4 good CBs for 2 spots.

This is the reason why Fiorentina fans hate the De Valle.
Signed no players, despite they sold Marco Alonso around 30 mln , Mati Fernandez etc
They 'd have sold even Borja Valero to Roma if Roma got over the CL play off.
Paulo Sousa reiceves a weakened team on a depressed environment, he'll have to make a great job

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Serie A clubs break Italy's transfer record with €708m summer spend...
Italian clubs spent a record of almost €708 million in the transfer market this summer, thanks mainly to investments made by Juventus and Inter Milan.
This summer's trading in Italy was up almost €100m on the same period last year, with Juve's €90m signing of Gonzalo Higuain by far and away the biggest investment -- being also a new record fee paid by an Italian club.
The Bianconeri, who are seeking a sixth straight Scudetto this season, did not stop with only Higuain, however.
The arrivals of Miralem Pjanic (€32m) and Marko Pjaca (€23m) contributed to them spending over €161m in total, although the world record sale of Paul Pogba to Manchester United actually helped them offset their spending and make a total profit of €23.5m, earning them top marks in La Gazzetta dello Sport for their transfer dealings.
Juve's profit contrasts dramatically with the negative balance of Inter's transfer dealings, with almost €70m spent in the final 48 hours of the transfer window on Joao Mario and Gabigol, with the club having spent €22m already on Antonio Candreva.
By comparison, the outlay of city rivals AC Milan -- who, like Inter, were taken over by Chinese investors this summer -- came in at a relatively paltry €25.5m, divided between Gianluca Lapadula, Jose Ernesto Sosa and Gustavo Gomez.
Napoli reinvested all of the money they earned from selling Higuain to Juventus, with Arkadiusz Milik their biggest outlay at €32m, and Nikola Maksimovic -- whose signing was approved just a matter of minutes before Wednesday's deadline -- costing them a further €26m, meaning the club made a net loss of almost €13m in their summer's transfer activity.
Although the overall spending in Italy continues to pale in comparison with Premier League clubs, the figure is almost double the amount invested four and five years ago, when a financial crisis was threatening Italian football.
With UEFA's changes to the Champions League coming into effect from 2018 -- which will guarantee four Serie A clubs a place in the tournaments group stage and increased revenue -- more Italian clubs now appear to be confident of spending with less thrift.

Report: Inter quartet left off Europa League squad due to FFP regulations
Armen BedakianSep 1 2016, 1:11 PM
Internazionale will be without newcomers Gabriel Barbosa and Joao Mario, as well as last season's arrivals Geoffrey Kondogbia and Stevan Jovetic in Europa League play as the club failed to turnover enough profit in 2016 to avoid Financial Fair Play restrictions.
The quartet were left off of Inter's submitted roster for the continental competition as a result of FFP rules that limit the club from overspending; Inter has spent more than it has brought in for the last three years.
ESPN FC reports that the Italian outfit has spent approximately €215 million while bringing in just €90 million in return, forcing Inter to leave its newcomers off the team.
Still, Inter does have a few new faces in its Europa League squad this season.
Ever Banega is another recent addition, the Argentine joining the club on a free transfer, while Antonio Candreva's €25-million fee was offset when the Nerazzurri sold Mateo Kovacic to Real Madrid last year.
Manager Frank De Boer will need to wait for the club to tie up its financial loose ends before he can field a full-strength Inter side in European competition.

Apparently the reason Napoli didn't go for a right winger is because , Sarri has been really impressed by Insigne, Roberto Insigne, the younger brother. He blocked a move to Carpi
Would be cool if both Insigne bros become regulars for the same team.

Icardi and Brozovic will also have release clauses that can only be triggered from outside of Italy. Wonder why no one does that sort of thing in Germany..

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
I guess Pjanic and Higuain caused more of a fuss than previously thought.
It makes sense and I like the idea from other clubs, kind of undermines Juventus' transfer ideology of buying from Serie A, you know, sharing the wealth as the heroes of this story. Then again, buying players from teams like Napoli, Roma, Inter and AC Milan isn't the intention. We're supposed to be signing the talented players from smaller teams like Dybala from Palermo, Bonucci from Bari, Asamoah from Udinese.
I think serie a is going to be much better in two or so years.

More competitive? Sure. Not sure that readily correlates to better though.
Squads with better quality players and depth will help for sure, but still a long way to go from an infrastructure perspective. Need more clubs making meaningful moves towards building and owning their own stadiums.

But it is not because Juve doesn't want to sign players from Inter, Milan ,Roma or Napoli, but it is because Inter,Milan ,Roma and Napoli don't want to sell their players to Juve ( Brozovic,De Sciglio, Nainggolan etc) .
Juve made a Bayern Munchen this year just because Pjanic and Napoli had a clause, otherwise they never 'd have gone to Juve.
Besides the Pjanic clause had a ridicoulous price, 30 mln are a low price in this insane mercato.
