Re: Samuel Umtiti
I was very high on him to the point where his brother started dreaming money. Definitely worlds best defender of the season to that point. But he's been utter trash after that, which reflects badly on his character. He's still young and could be the best defender Barca ever had, but at the same time he could go the same route as Tyson when Robin Givens was introduced to his life. Will be interesting to see how he conducts himself to next season.

Umtiti isn't irreplaceable though, Lenglet is just as good and even younger and willing to join
We don't need money whores in our team, we need players who really identify with the club.

Re: Samuel Umtiti
I dont think thats fair. He is one of the most wanted defenders in the world, he needs to paid to his value.
He isnt different from any other player, they all want to be paid what they are worth.

Re: Samuel Umtiti
Yeah agreed, Barca should pay Umtiti a market salary, he has proven he is worth it and is already integrated into the team.
But if he is leaving... then Alderweireld is on the market and would be a fantastic fit as well.

Re: Samuel Umtiti
I don't mind paying him the market value, but how it all happened before the crunch time of the season, and how his performance free falled after that should be a warning sign at some level.

Re: Samuel Umtiti
This savage boing has to stop. Its embarrassing in my opinion.
First of all, he is under no obligation to take a pay cut or leave. We signed him to a contract for this length of time and this level of wage. We did it because at the time, he was at a high level and we wanted to keep him.
He got injured (for a noble cause) and has not been the same since.
I also want him to leave, therefore reliving us of some debt. But it is absoutely wrong to give him this kind of treatment. The loudest moment in the stadium other than the goal, was him going to warm up.
It is not even like he has contributed nothing for years and year, half of his time at Barca has been as a very good player.

Re: Samuel Umtiti
Completely agreed. He's just being made into a scapegoat and it's embarrassing the "fans" are playing into it.
The socios who voted for Rossell/Bart knowing full well who they were are the reason we're in this situation now, not any individual players.
