Much more realistic than them finishing 4th or Man Yoo winning the league that people here have tbh.
Only ones who are going to stop them are Chelsea and that's me just showing respect to Conte because i don't think they are that good.

lol based on what? People are basing this solely on the fact that Pep's their manager.
In reality they are the team that need the most strengthening. And honestly they havent done that until now. They bought Gundogan, a top class player, no denying that, but when will he be able to play his first match in City colors? December ?? Their midfield barring him is a joke with Yaya and the 2 Brazilian skinhead scrubs. Fernandinho is decent. And not to mention they have the most aged squad among the top teams.
And then their defense, well.. not even delving into it. Their success as always solely rest on an injury prone Aguero and KdB and a 19 year old wonderkid from Nigeria.
Not saying they cant win the league. Pep is a special coach, I agree. Perhaps he can even make them perform better than what they otherwise can like SAF. But at this point unless proven otherwise (either through some really good transfer deals or performances on the field) their chances of glory are just the same as that of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spuds and us.

Based on they mentally packed it in under Pellegrini and they still finished above you lol.
Like with Conte people are underestimating how much impact playing under a coach who they want to play for is going to have.
You don't go to from 1st and 2nd the year before (City and Chelsea) to not even relevance the year after due to a lack of quality, there's outside reasons for that to happen.
People are doing two things.....
Vastly overestimating the quality in this league as a whole and vastly underestimating the players in both squads.
Also Arsenal and Spurs don't make me laugh, they are pretenders and nothing more.
Still makes me laugh how a team who was one goal away from the CL final despite packing it in mentally is apparently not good enough according to this forum.

Yea they finished above a Louis Van Gaal managed United side that had like 25 players out injured throughout the season on goal difference. Thats quite an achievement.
And you are saying they deliberately underperformed under Pellegrini ? No offense Mole, but thats something a poster from Bluemoon would say.
How did they reach the CL semi final if they were under-performing intentionally.
Another interpretation of their showing in the league might have been simple lack of quality ? Even wondered that? They did have quality players. But they also had players like Demichelis and Sagna as their starters last season. Players who wont even get into a Southampton or an Everton team these days. Even if they play well, they can only play so much cos of their tiring legs and age.
Dont know about Chelsea and their implosion last season from champs to midtable, but as far as city's concerned its a clear case of depreciating quality cos of age. You dont need to be a football pundit to fathom that out. Its sheer logic. When did City win their last league title. 3 seasons back when they had all their main players in their primes, the likes of Yaya and Silva and Kompany.
They could squeeze maximum out of that crop of players. Now they need a new crop, a new generation to bank on, something honestly they havent got until now barring De Bruyne and a crocky Gundogan.

Pep's the best coach of all time. Gonna walk the league tbh. You'll see when Navas starts playing like a young Messi and Sagna starts channeling his inner prime Alves.

Settle down...lol, it's like reading some bi-polar thread off Sad cafe.
The transfer window is young and I can fully appreciate your giddyness. There's a chance you'll sign Paul Pogba (although the smart money says John Obi Mikel) and your chasing around Europe trying to get that
But dont worry, between the bus parking and crap football, there's the blistering counter attacking verve of a 34 year old with pace only Falcao with no knees can comprehend and the Armenian who'll have to play right wing cos of the midfield dynamo Wayne Rooney. There's also that center back who provide depth to Marco Rojo and his godlike defending.
Exciting times....

Theres no need to be pretentious and cocky when hearing facts. Did I say United has a better squad than City anywhere ? I only stated you havent done anything until now, since transfer window opened. (May be you will. And I will change my inference if so) and that you have an aged squad with mediocre defenders? Go on. Deny it!

Exactly. This is the kind of thought thats prevalent right now. That somehow Pep will magically convert prime scrubs into top tier players.

City is going to have to learn a new footballing language under Pep. I don't think they will adapt quickly, even though the PL is crap. They'll finish top 3 regardless, though.
3 of the top 4 will include United, Chelsea, and City. The 4th place will be fought between Arsenal/Liverpool/Tottenham.

FA Cup: Fourth substitute to be allowed in latter stages of competition
Clubs will be allowed to use a fourth substitute during extra time in the latter stages of this season's FA Cup.
The format, subject to approval from the International Football Association Board, was trialled in the Copa America this summer.
The rule will be introduced in the FA Cup from the quarter-final stage.
FA chief executive Martin Glenn said the move will add "intrigue and interest", adding that "player welfare" had also been a consideration.
"It is important The FA continues to look at how it can further add to the drama and spectacle of a competition loved by millions," he added.
The FA's decision to scrap replays from the quarter-final stage was another factor in the move.

Sounds like an idea, but not really sure about the actual impact of it.
Also, now I am sad that LVG is not in the league to makeinexplicable genius substitutions.

Aaron Cresswell out for 3 months as a result of a lunging challenge in one of WH's pre-season game against some unknown scrub team.

Awful
That's mertesacker out for 6 months and Cresswell out for 3. Not a good start for some clubs
