I have zero interest in seeing this game now until you have something relevant to show.
Wish they would just shut up and work on the game tbh, anyone else other than Kojima would be ridiculed for this it's getting ridiculous now.
Fully agree. The story looks like it has potential, because I like cosmic horror, but when did we find out about this again? E3 2016? Been a year and a half and we keep getting these cinematic trailers that leave us as confused as before. Show some gameplay you pos's. Expecting this to be late 2019 or something tbh.

But it's Kojima so the story should be good at least.
MGSV was hot trash in that department, but the gameplay was amazing.
IDK how you can say it looks trash though when we've only really seen story trailers, especially if you liked Bloodborne, this has the whole cosmic horror theme going on too. Has the potential to be one of the more interesting and different gaming experiences. I need to see gameplay now.
What were those things in MGSV called? the parasite unit? legit shit myself whenever I saw at the start of chapter credits they would be involved so I know Kojima can nail an action horror feel here.
If the story isn't a huge mess of too many ideas (and it kinda looks like it may be from these teasers) could see it being a GOAT contender, provided gameplay is MGSV tier.

Re: Death Stranding
Yeah was gonna say that, they have shown nothing to be determine anything
That's my issue with it, not that it's good or bad but it's kinda just there.
I can't take anything from something like that, it would be fine it was the first time but we've had two years of this.

nah MGSV is elite. No problems with it other than the missing chapter.
Yea Kojima is a master when it comes to creating characters and horror. He has single handedly made the greatest characters in video game history.
The first time you face psycho mantis. You would have shit your pants because you have absolutely no idea wtf it was. It was way ahead of its time. It even read your memory card
anyways regarding death stranding. The game just looks so weird. More trailers, more weird it gets.
But with kojima you have to realise he takes his time and that's what konami hated about him. I don't think the game is coming out till 2020 at least. 2019 if we are lucky. So more trailers will come out. It's del toro collaborating with him so cinematics are going to be a great deal.

Re: Death Stranding
I didn't have a problem with MGSV storywise tbh, my issue with it was how the missions were structured.
Cookie cutter open world design, while the gameplay was great it didn't matter because the design was *bleep* meh as hell.
That game needed another year design wise, everything else was fine. Obviously i didn't get far enough for the missing chapter to matter.

Re: Death Stranding
MGSV was an unfinished mess. Chapter 1 was amazing though. RG is of course very biased about it, I remember him say its open world is better than GTA 5's like wtf there was literally nothing to do in the open world aside of side ops.

Won't deny i am extremely biased to it. I'd probably go back and play mgs5 than gta5 lol (no chance of either happening calma)

Re: Death Stranding
Yeah the open world aspect was the worst part imo lol.
If it was structured together better than a prime Ubisoft game I probably would have bothered to finish it tbh.
Although how unfinished it apparently was probably would have massively triggered me.

Re: Death Stranding
I never played MGS5, but I remember reading somewhere that Konami decided to make the game open world for the same reason that Ubisoft does it; because it makes the implementation of micro-transaction features easier and more sustainable. In the end, the game didn't actually have any micro-transactions, and it was reported that Kojima himself was strongly against the idea. It's hard to tell if any of it is actually true, but it wouldn't be surprising if it was. It's probably unlikely that Death Stranding will be an open-world game.

Re: Death Stranding
With how glowing Kojima was mid development about the potential open world would give the gameplay I don't particularly believe that tbh.
Think that was always the plan, the micro transactions part might be true but I think he always planned it to be open world.
It's quite clear the game from a design point of view was very rushed, I at least don't believe Kojima wanted it to be released how it was.

Re: Death Stranding
Well, according to the reports, his feud with Konami started exactly because of their disagreements as to what the final product was going to look like. There's no point in creating an open world game if the publisher doesn't grant the developers enough time to give the world substance. Substance can later be added through paid DLC or MTX, like they've done with FFXV, but I don't believe that's a sustainable model. Destiny's model of locking out content and later releasing it as DLC could work, but only if the consumers don't realize that the content was in the game to begin with It's hard to hide such info when every micro-detail of games are scrutinised by data-miners.
After trying to enjoy FFXV's shallow and underwhelming DLCs that came with my season pass edition of the game, it's starting to make sense to me, from a profits perspective, why Activision opted to release pre-made Destiny content as DLC. Despite all of the controversy, people seemed to like the content of their expansions, and since they required little to no time for additional polish, they could all be released whenever Activision gave the green light to do so. Meanwhile, FFXV are still releasing expansions and updates that supposedly add substance to a game that the majority of the fan base grew tired of a long time ago

This lol
At the end of the day we're buying a game. Not abstract art. Fine for a reveal but after that just show me what i'm actually buying please. I don't like surprises when I pay £50 to get them.

Re: Death Stranding
These Sony execs are massive trolls lol, guarantee it was worded as i've played it and it make sense etc etc.
Still remember one of the heads at Sony saying two years ago that he's played Sucker Punches new game and it's great lol.
Would be pretty normal but considering how it was worded it came across as i've played it and you haven't sort of thing.
Was hilarious.

Re: Death Stranding
Well if he has played 5 hours of it then at least 6 hours of game has been made. Suppose that is a positive?
Assuming Kojima is planning on a 25 hour game. We should see death stranding in 2026

2020 is my bet tbh, if it's before that i'm gonna be pretty shocked.
Although TLOU Part 2 and Death Stranding in 2019 would be a great year for Playstation, but game is further out than that imo.

Re: Death Stranding
anyone got half a day to spend watching Youtube videos?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_pGz1qpxPQ
seen people debating this at length online, a sizable group really believe death stranding will be related to MGS and Konami are still involved somehow, either directly or peripherally.
Can't knock this level of grasping at straws some of it even makes sense as all good wild theories should
