Just got to Helheim. Athena's entrance on the boat and house was great. Really creepy. I'm wondering where the blades of chaos came from since those were lost in GOW1. Don't spoil it though. Magni and Modi were proper bosses finally, that was a great fight.
- Spoiler:
- You didn't consider the dragon and the stranger fight proper boss fights
Those would be the main 3 up to that point imo.

Sorry brah, one of the main reasons I wanted to finish the game pretty quickly was because of spoilers.
I had one thing spoiled for me due to YouTube caption and headlines

The dragon yeah. That was a real boss, GOW style and everything. Its different from Magni and Modi though, this was a proper fight. The dragon was more scripted and relied on throwing the rocks to him. With these two you are free to do whatever you want. Plus the thunder room thing was great.
The Stranger was super cool, it was just the first fight of the game though. I felt that more as prologue than anything else. Its hard to lose, we don't have any skills, magic, tools, etc and it sets up the game. Clearly, from the start, he wasn't gonna die either so it felt more like a cut-scene that you get to play. The intro to the game.

Re: God of War
got a few suspicions about the story if there is a big twist, just based on what I know about Norse mythology outside of the game, but I'll probably be completely wrong. Should finish this up today or tomorrow at the latest, at lest it feels like I'm likely coming close to the end, maxed health, rage, almost maxed skills etc.
Agree with what Mole said before, feels as close to a perfect game as I can remember, just the little things too that other games forget to implement to remove any tediousness, it's pure enjoyment here, doesnt have time for anything else. The only thing I wish was slightly better so far are the boss fights, I feel like there hasn't been enough yet? but then that's due to what I know of previous games that raised my expectations I guess. I also understand it though from a story and pacing angle.

Re: God of War
Without saying too much I agree there could have been more boss fights but I feel like there was basically the ones there that made sense in line with the story and journey.
Nothing really felt out of place, I enjoyed what the did when it came.
I should also mentioned the only original GOW which had shit tonnes of Boss fights was 3 because it was basically the end of the Greek Pantheon.
1 had like 3 boss fights and 2 had 6 or 7. I suspect future GOW in this trilogy will have more boss fights.

- Spoiler:
- the first valkyrie i beat was after getting the magic chisel, i think i was level 4-5. but i beat her because i learned her attacking patterns and i was dodging (almost) everything. you will almost always take damage because they sometimes switch things up randomly and it can throw you out of your rhythm. i also had a resurrection stone and i used spartan rage with good timing to replenish energy. But the others i was level 6 and 7.
They all have patterns, you just need to learn it and be patient, i am sure a more skilled player can beat level at a lower level. Just remember to never let them fly. some have undodgable and unblockable attacks when they start flying. I just throw my axe at them and it's a guarantee stun.

- That's exactly how I beat the Muspelheim one with like level 5 gear lol.
I have now got the Mist Chest and Waist armor now though as well as the Valkyrie wrist armor it dropped so I went from like level 5 to level 7 at the end of my session.
I'm hoping I have an easier time with the other Valkyries now I have much better gear

Re: God of War
It didn't start with GOW3. GOW2 was great at that, they were fantastic and unique. None of them were gods yet were done perfectly.
- Spoiler:
- At Helheim, there is this GOAT set piece with the bridge of the damned overlooking Hel and this enormous bird thing in the back. Its looks amazing, then who is the bridge keeper whose heart we need?a re-skinned troll.
Too much wasted potential with the bosses, only aspect that lags in the game. GOW1 level bosses which feels like a step backwards after 2 and 3.

Yeah but there wasn't loads of them was my point, more than here in the main story but not by a lot. GOW 3 was really the only one with absolutely loads of boss fights.

Re: God of War
Oh, I do have one more thing that disappointed me but I'm not sure if it's just because I become so focused and engrossed during battles that I'm not paying attention - OST. I'll go look on Youtube when done because I want to avoid being spoiled, but OST is a huge thing for me in games and I can't recall a single memorable one playing yet during GoW? a friend told me the OST was dope in previous games.

I like the OST during cutscenes etc etc for example
RG don't read the spoiler.
But it's not that amazing during most of the fights but I wonder if that's by design.
- Spoiler:
- the music on the boat to get the blades was absolutely phenomenonal

Re: God of War
Just finished it, 9.7/10, just lacking in the OST and needed an extra maybe 2 or so epic boss battles to be a perfect game, easily one of the GOAT Sony exclusives though.
Easily the best combat I've played in a game, too damn satisfying
that's how the sequel starts off I hope, can't wait, hope it's not 5 years away

- no you will fight her in the mist, you better have one of the Ivaldi's armor sets before you mess around that section. it's the best armor in the game, resist the mist, and health regen

Re: God of War
ffs, they're basically all I have left besides finding all treasures and Odin ravens, I'm only doing that if there isn't a trophy for beating the game on the hard mode though, if there isn't I'll platinum it. Bet there is smh.
What are your favorite runes or w/e for Kratos' weapons btw? anything you've found clearly above the rest? I guess it depends on play-style.

ravens could be tedious, especially since I didn't keep track and have taken out like 30 of them already, besides that same, it's an easy fun plat
