Who will go through? (Pick 2)
Re: Copa America 2016 USA - Group A
Even though it's our bench the players are fully capable of grinding out the win especially considering who we have on the bench now.
I have to take a look but apparently if we lost we would avoid Brazil ( i think)

Consistently gets out of the groups in WC, just got through a group with fairly recent CA runners up, CRC (WC quarterfinalist 2014) and Colombia (WC quarterfinalist 2014). Depending on the result later tonight, the US could top the group.
Myth needs to die. US aren't amazing, but we're no longer bad at football and haven't been for a while now.
Amazing result, heart and soul in that game, incredible crowd. Can't wait for our next game
We are 10-15 years away from winning a world cup.
There is too much interest, and we have too many people, for that not to be the case with out culture.
Not sure if I agree with that. I think we're headed in the right direction but I'm unsure our culture is in the right place yet to allow for that to happen. At the grass roots level you still see most of our best athletes going into other sports, there are large parts of the country that are crazy about football but an equal amount that still couldn't care less (where I've lived my whole life).
I think we're closer to 30-40 years away from mounting a serious challenge, and even then we'll see. I think MLS and our players still have a lot of development to go.
I'm happy and excited about US Soccer but I'm not ready at all to predict we're 10-15 years away. There is still a gulf of class between our players and the likes of Argentina, England, Belgium, France, Germany, Brazil, Netherlands even Uruguay, Chile, and our performance against Colombia was terrible (would like a rematch against them tbh).

Belgium struggled to get past us in the last world cup. 30 years and we will have won a world cup and most likely a mickey mouse competition like the confederations cup.
We have over a quarter of a billion people. Even with soccer getting 2nd, or 3rd, type of athletes like currently that is still enough to make a dent with the growth of soccer culture here.

Didn't Belgium struggle due to Tim Howard being on god mode though?

He saved shots coming straight at him because the US press didnt allow them to get time to place the ball.
Howard just received a lot of praise because we always need a superhero in this country.

Maybe Colombia threw the game so they're not in the same bracket as us

Can't believe the US, under Klinsmann, defense actually held together against Paraguay. We're talking about a defense that conceded 2 against Guatemala.
Hope it's a sign of things to come.
Klinsmann secured his job again to my dismay.
