He'll be in top-3 for sure though, footballing wise maybe he shouldn't be there, but he's the most famous and markatable footballer and star player of his team, even though i see players like Modric & Ramos more imporant for madrid.

it lost its credit long before then to be honest. i liked it when you had a balon d'or and fifa footballer award, both separate with different requirements. i think it kept them on their toes. even better was the uefa awards where they had a best cf, midfielder, goalie, defender and an mvp. i don't know why they don't just do that, if indeed they want people to view these individual honors seriously

and quit the way votes are being cast, let the media decide. after all, its their job to watch games.

While I agree that the award should not be taken seriously, I don't think that Messi was the one who should've won it back in 2010. I suppose you don't agree, since you say the award lost it's "credit" credibility in 2013. Is Art Morte the only Finnish guy on here who's not inflated with bias?
