Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku now one step away from joining Chelsea. Inter and Chelsea are close to reach the agreement for €115m as final fee [no player included, at the moment]. @SkySport #CFC
— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 7, 2021
Lukaku has an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea. €12m net per season as salary.

I feel at most this will be like what Juventus got out of Higuain. I am not excited at all.

At the very least he's a top 5 striker in the world who will bag 25 goals in Tuchel's system. Why the hell would anyone doubt him?? I genuinely can't see any reality where he flops.

Imagine saying this after a season where your top scorer was a deep-lying midfielder with 7 penalties.

You should be. He is completely different to Higuain and will get you literally everything. his hold up play and ball carrying ability itself is a huge complement to the likes of Werner, Havertz, Mount. There is no way he is going to be anything other than your best striker since Drogba

Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
He should have returned to Chelsea already back when Conte was manager
Raiola fucked him over
he had to fire the fat fuck's arse in order to resurrect his career at Inter

Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
Wasnt it Mou who let him go after he missed the pen in that seasons charity shield or something? Lukaku finally cementing his place with the elites if he moves to Chelsea, Drogba 2.0, that was his dream all along I read somewhere He never should have left, but credit to him, hes vastly improved over the past couple of years and definitely an upgrade to Werner lol...

I'm with Blue on this one. He's going to give you exactly what he did at Man U and Everton. Not a difference-maker in big games, which is what Chelsea is looking for I assume. He'll get his stats over a season and is a good striker no doubt. But not an elite player. He's like Icardi.
I don't understand the 135 million for him.

Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
Did you even watch him play with Inter?
This isn't Lukaku playing under Mourinho as a target man. He's a runner. Conte knew that and so does Martinez. Tuchel will play him like that too.
He's developed a lot under Conte. His hold up play has improved tons and he's improved in terms of positioning. Even his technical consistency is better than it used to be. Lukaku is great I don't get the hate.

What can I say I am a picky beggar. Yes he is an improvement, but not enough upgrade to warrant the spending and the opportunity cost. Does Lukaku make us a league contender? For me that is a no. And I rather take another swing at Haaland next summer.
I remember signing Torres, it was terrible signing from the beginning. He went on to be one of the worst signing ever and had we waited another six months we could have had Sergio Aguero.
Lukaku will not be Torres, but I feel he won’t live up to expectations. And I don’t think Lukaku is a fit for a proactive side and side that is given little space.

Honestly he'll be great against the mid table teams for Chelsea which is what is important in the league, he'll get some valuable points in the battle for the league, its a great purchase.

Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
I did and I'm taking into account Serie A style and speed v EPL. It's really night and day. There's less room and everything is much faster in EPL.Casciavit wrote:Did you even watch him play with Inter?

It's not like there isn't a lot of data points with Lukaku in EPL, both at Everton and Man U. He's good no doubt. I'm just very skeptical about him being elite.

Why? Werner profits from playing alongside a striker like LukakuMyesyats wrote:Timo Werner: "Feelsbadman"

Re: Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea
Werner problem is finishing, his movement is excellent. If he can even finish half of the chances he missed it would be a completely different story. His finishing is so bad

I think Tammy Abraham will fetch us good money, he is young and proven goal scorer.
I don’t think Chelsea are ready to RLC, the other guys have high wages not good selling assets.

— Gianluca Di Marzio (@DiMarzio) August 10, 2021
Romano/GDM said the other day they will replace Lukaku with 2 strikers (Duvan/Dzeko), however my suspicions are that they will offload Lautaro/1 more signing.
