Re: Club Future
It's looking more and more likely, and this is as close to being official as it gets. Still, I can't help but be skeptic after the whole Mr. Bee and the stadium saga (both deals officially announced and then fell to shit).
Berlusconi has also said that he is going to sell all of the club (as opposed to the 70% that was being mentioned earlier).
Not sure if he is still going to remain "Honorary President", but that's not something I would mind. We have developed strong hatred for the management in recent years but there is no denying that the AC Milan that we know today would not be if not for Berlusconi's investments over the last 30 years, and for the he does deserve some kind of "Honorary" title.

Re: Club Future
He also said this:
"[The Chinese] have asked me to direct the transfer campaign because they still have no experience."
"Five players will leave including Alex, Mexes, Boateng and Balotelli whose contracts expire, others will be sold."
"I will choose someone who can put the team in a high level. I want to stay as president for at least another 3 years."
"If the buyer does not accept my conditions, which is putting Milan on the top, I will reconsider the sale."
"Fans will have no patience for a young Milan. It will be compact and hungry but they would hardly win anything immediately."
IMO Mihajlovic was the perfect coach to have if you wanted to focus on building a young Milan since I've rarely seen a coach put so much faith in young players.
So essentially nothing has changed....

Berlusconi is once again starting to have doubts on the sale of Milan. Next week could be decisive. [Sky]

Re: Club Future
President Silvio Berlusconi will undergo his heart surgery this morning, as Sal Galatioto drafts a contract for Milan's sale.
The media tycoon's heart needs the replacement of an aortic valve, and the surgeons will take care of that today.
After the operation, Berlusconi will need a couple of days of intensive therapy and one month of rest, according to Tuttosport.
At the same time, his sales mediator landed in Italy and is currently negotiating terms with Milan's holding company Fininvest with a view to selling the club to a Chinese conglomerate.
Their aim is to produce the draft of a contract, which will then be given to Berlusconi when he is in better health conditions. The President will have the final word on the club's sale.

The only thing I can make out from this is that the club won't be able to concentrate completely on the transfer market, which means money wasted on sub-par players and absence of any significant reinforcement to the squad, basically same shit different day

Re: Club Future
“I gave up Milan to a group that can bring them back to prominence in Italy, in Europe and in the world,” he told the Press upon coming out of the hospital, as reported by Calciomercato.it.
“I demanded that they provide at least €400m to be spent on the market over the next two years. They are an important group, with an involvement of the [Chinese] state.”

Not getting excited until it's official. That being said, time to make it rain.

Re: Club Future
Like Dosto said, I'm not getting excited until there's official confirmation. Even with Mr Bee there was a handshake and champagne was popped, that didn't stop the deal from going south. Plus Berlu is no stand up man, he can say something one second and do another the next

400m in the next two years
Not even really feeling anything yet because I'm almost sure the management will screw it up but hopefully this is the beginning of change.

Re: Club Future
So, when will it happen? The faster it happens, the better for Milan. Though, I don't know much about the possible new "investors". Do they seem trustworthy regarding Milan's future management?

Re: Club Future
They are supposed to be super rich Chinese investors trying to globalize the Milan brand even more with the Asian market. It sounds good but I guess you never know. Its just that Galliani has to go.
