Yep. Plays simple and moves the ball quickly. There's beauty in just making the simple play as opposed to trying the hollywood move.
Another Zidane suggestion btw.

A good sub would be Casemiro.

Benz hasn't had a great game but he's tried pretty hard and has a goal.... Ronaldo has been nowhere to be found. Marcelo has been worse too.

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
Much harder fought victory than it should have been. Modric, Carvajal and Kroos were excellent. Isco was good in the first half but not in the second. Ronaldo contributed nothing other than shooting when he should have passed. For once the subs were spot on and excellent when they came on
James has no business being in a Madrid line up. None at all. Poor player with a priviliged attitude
Hope Carvajal is ok. Cant lose him now ffs

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
Poor game from us I really expected more.
As for James again playing sloppy but he wasn't the only one. Even after he was subbed out there was almost zero improvement in how Granada were running right through us.

Yeah, another nothing performance from Ronaldo. All in all, dreadful stuff which isn't gonna bode well against much harder opponents. Thank goodness for that Modric golaso, lord only knows how this thread would have lit up.

It's interesting to me that Bale's speed is now critical for our team... we have nobody else with speed lol.

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
If Benzema finishes that absolute platter of a chance we go 2-0 and it was game over. How the hell he missed that though?
Refcelona blocking Modric when he was dribbling nonetheless. Wasnt even intercepted pass that's the funny thing.
Kovacic is such a talent. Really look like a gem. Kroos ,modric were really great.
Marcelo, Benzema, Ronaldo,James really bad.

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
Benz played bad but he did score Adit, lay off him.
The lack of speed is very concerning. I knew CR7 was declining but for it to be this bad...
I'll have more thoughts on Zidane thread.

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
That was actually a good finish by Benz... it was right in the corner. The keeper played russian roulette and guessed one side and guessed right. It was basically a PK save lol. It's not like he missed or took the chance badly.
My issue with Benz was his passing... it was off. He tried hard though and got a goal.

Honestly, I surprised he went to his right when the left was begging for a finish. That is right and left of the goalie, not Benzema.

The automatic finish is low and hard to the opposite post. I don't think he lifted his head so he went with the bread and butter... that was actually bad keeping but he got lucky. You're supposed to make yourself big or dive at the striker's feet and challenge the striker to make a perfect finish. If you guess one way, it's 50/50 at best. But it worked this time.
Navas did the stupid do or die move too but he guessed wrong. I'm not a fan of it. You need to play the odds as a keeper and then react the best you can. If you guess right, it's spectacular... but it's not statistically effective.

Times like this makes me miss lass. a b2b who could pass when concentrated and never ran out of stamina and fast.
Still miss him that man.
Still miss him that man.
Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
Lass couldn't pass that well, and he was undisciplined , tactically speaking, he ran a lot but imo it's better to position well than to use your physic to make up for you not knowing where to position

Lass has been absolutely magnificent at Marseille this season... very technical too. Looks nothing like the Madrid version. He bossed PSG's midfield and that's not easy feat today.

Out of all the DM's ever graced a Madrid jersey, you miss Lass? Give me the likes of Makalele or Redondo. Hell, Di Maria is more missed by me than anything. And Hala of course...

you forget he played when mou was here, mou who doesnt use his midfield well.
that and lass had mental issues. if he had time with Carlo or Zidane, we would have seen a better version of him.
To this day, I still say Khedira x Alonso was a mistake. never liked either of them.
I hope Kroos dont follow alonso path. Kroos performance today worries me.
You forget Di maria being a punk for a majority of his career here. still sore the way he left us. his greed got to him.Doc wrote:Out of all the DM's ever graced a Madrid jersey, you miss Lass? also, makalele and redondo are retired. Lass is still active.

FINALLY YOU READY TO EAT SHIT SPORTS! TOLD YOU HE WAS ALWAYS GREAT. I will never forgive mourinho for favoring khedira to lass. never. also never forgive him for not using lass right and stifling our midfield. If france wants any hope of winning euros, benz better be there and LASS better be starting in that midfield!
And in regards to lass positioning, Di maria didnt position either but none of y'all complained when he bossed the midfield regardless. double standards man.
Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
somebody couldn't wait to explode with hate, yet over looks cr misses and performances typical agenda, so sad and obvious .
anyway the away form is shockingly bad, making mountains out of ant hills, in the high pressure situations some players ain't hacking it, kova or casemiro should come in, along with jese or lucas for the away games.
big goal from modric much respect to him ffs .
benz started off alright, then that miss(good/lucky save) and cr screaming at him, he just started passing it for rest of the game .
cr as usual if he ain't scoring, looks like he can't be arsed... what a leader .

I rather those retired guys than Lass. He had his time and failed considerably.

He was never meant to and never could play the role in a double-pivot, which is what Mou ran... he is perfect for a 433 or diamond 442 where he can cut off passing lanes and recover balls. It's like asking Motta of PSG to play in a 4231. He'd look just as bad. You ask a player who thrives on anticipation to play a reactive role.
He looked fine before Mou and has looked great after Mou.

Re: Granada vs Real Madrid
He looks fine playing single pivot, specially in the duels and defensively he is lightyears ahead of Kroos obviously.
Lass was always talented, but he never quite put it together.
Now he is 30, plays for a team which is not very good, no huge expectation like in madrid, his game has no doubt matured as well. If he was 25, i would want us to sign him in a heart beat
