"I'm so happy. It is my dream to play here. Chelsea is my new home and I thank Chelsea for their support and thank you to my fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for following me.
"I need to play. I don't know what else to say because I am just so happy to be here. I want to get to know my new team-mates and the players here and I really want to play for Chelsea."

Re: Alexandre Pato
This is exactly Falcao v2. A player clearly past his prime that we buy because we were interested in the past when he actually was a good player.
I mean, I really wanted to sign him when Carlo was our coach and he was one of the most promising youngsters on the planet, but he's really been meh since then. The last good thing from him was that goal against Barca at Camp Nou in the first 10 seconds of the game.

Re: Alexandre Pato
Well i am sure he did at least some good things in Brazil ; for Milan yes that was his last memorable highlight . Was quite something though , wasn't it . Damn it all , he looked better than ever early on that season , such a shame really.
Thing is Pato always played better next to another CF , but he always wanted to play 9 when he was more of a second striker if anything . Wanted to be like his idol Ronaldo you see (:
Can't tell how he will do with Chelsea , but i am very very eager to watch how him play more frequently again , will certainly keep an eye when Chelsea's on . I just hope he gets at least relatively lucky in his first matches and doesn't begin with any shockers . You're right to be grounded of course , i'd also second that , yet , after 3 years away from Europe , finally getting his big 2nd chance and playing with Chelsea in the PL ... i would certainly not downplay it all just because Pato is so last year . Who knows really , but i've no doubts he will be very fired up . Hopefully he does well .

I agree, I have my reservations about him but I hope he does well.

Re: Alexandre Pato
Apparently the deal has stagnated because Corinthians wants to add a loan fee, after everything was agreed

Re: Alexandre Pato
damn , lad can't catch a break
Will that prove to be a stumbling block for Chelsea , though ? Sure thing it's in poor taste by Corinthians after having agreed and Pato having his medicals , frankly it's ridiculous .
Yet we are probably talking 1m , 2m stretching it for the loan fee , they cannot possibly be asking for anything more than that. Surely Chelsea will resolve the situation somehow ?

Re: Alexandre Pato
Considering we're only paying 4m in wages for the 6 months,
If it's only a couple of million, I don't think there will be an issue, but if they want something like half his transfer fee upfront, we probably won't go through with it. It's really just rude from Corinthians.
It'll get done, I think.

Re: Alexandre Pato
I agree if that is to be the case . And it's not just rude , it's fully amateur stuff and unprofessional by them. When you have a deal , you have a deal. Ask what you want before agreeing and the player is in London having a medical ffs . Very weird.
But yes , hopefully they sort it out .

Re: Alexandre Pato
I'll laugh if we say to them on deadline day, Nah, actually, you keep him.
Since they really want to get rid of him.
They are in no position to ask something like that.

Re: Alexandre Pato
They are in no position to ask anything .
There's a deal , and the only reason there was a deal is because parties agreed on particular terms. It's one thing something not being fulfilled , maybe a player changing his mind , it can happen. Going back to what was agreed and flat out asking for more money after the player has finished his medical , this is laughable really .
They would certainly deserve to be trolled hard surely

Re: Alexandre Pato
Damn.
Everyone loves Pato, him becoming a top player again would be amazing.
Not sure if Chelsea is the right club though, should go someplace that guarantees first team football. I feel Chelsea don't really care what effect they will have on Pato, just need backup for Costa.

Although i didn't like it when we signed him at such a young age for a high fee, he slowly grew into one of my favorites, genuinely wish he does well at Chelsea

Re: Alexandre Pato
I really want him to succeed. Him blowing up in the Premier League would be amazing but is very unlikely to happen.
I loved him when he used to play for us. Injuries ruined him and here's hoping this is his turning point.

Re: Alexandre Pato
Wish him good luck. He's one of my favorite players, probably the one I wanted most to be signed by us back in 09. Hopefully he revives himself and lives up to at least half of the potential he showed in his early days.
