I just read a breaking news flash on TV: The friendly match Germany vs Netherlands in Hannover has been canceled right now and the stadium is being evacuated. As of now there is no further information by the police.

This is getting ridiculous. The terrorists are having the exact effect they intended to have...

Bild reporting that German police believe their is a "concrete threat" in Hannover tonight.
And it reports  about suspicious person loitering outside HDI-Arena

It was also also evacuated the TUI-Arena before of a  concert

Good. Even at the slightest threat, the games should be called off.

I'm definitely not amused. I hope they will now put more effort into ousting hate preachers and radicalised idiots that return from terrorist training camps and throw them into a deep and dark dungeon.

This seriously needs to be gone down hard on before the Euros next year.

I guess all this will also have an impact on coming CL and domestic league matches in Europe.

Could be a security threat, but could also be a "prank" by idiots to leave an empty package in the stadium, or, perhaps most likely, could be an overreaction by the police. Nobody wants to give the 'all clear' now if they have even the slightest suspicion of anything, err, suspicious.

According to the news there were infos by the secret service about a possible threat, so not just a prank. Earlier today, 7 persons were arrested in Aachen (a German town near the Belgian border) in connection with terrorism, albeit they don't seem to be connected with the Hannover threats.

Both teams, Germany and Netherlands, did not arrive at the HDI Arena in Hannover, they were diverted to a safe location which is kept secret at the moment.

Ppl , German newspapers report esplosives discovered inside ambulance outside stadium...

Apparently there was a truck bomb disguided as an ambulance. Unbelievable

Well, in that case it is indeed very fortunate that the officials got knowledge of this and managed to avert an attack and loss of lives.

Pretty low of that paper to do that and cause panic.

Hopefully there won't be any more cancellations of events and things start getting back to normal.
