Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
just paper talk but Lucho did make some changes in the second half against Leverkusen so maybe he'll experiment again
I expect 433 though and maybe some rotations when things don't go as planned

So much defence no wonder we lack vertical penetration

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
also hopefully Nerman steps up because he sucked hard for most of the last game. Should focus more on his football and less on his swagger

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
I notice that the general consensus is that x player is playing like shit when he doesn't score, rather than for their actual football. Like people are saying bout neymar now, like they said bout suarez just some 2 games ago, like cr7 when he doesnt score, like messi when he goes 3 games without scoring and assisting but when a player scores a goal but is mediocre throughout the game, u see people generally giving them a pass mark.
That being said, yes, i hope this is the match neymar finally gets his head off his arse. Has been kind off disappointing for his standard (maybe off the pitch issues). Though it hasnt helped that suarez is scoring thus putting him under more pressure. Anyway, I know he'll recover his form soon enough, but the team needs it immediately. Like donut said, thought he was the best player on the pitch against leverkusen tho, just missing a goal from his game right now.

Terrible, terrible combination
Which means that's exactly what Lucho will do.

Hard for Neymar to make a mark on the game when he's barely had the ball. Very little support going forward, all we're doing is countering atm

He's been able to influence the game, has created 1 good chance for Suarez and another not so easy one.
Rakitic having a good game so far as well.
Barca and Sevilla look as if they're playing the same style.

And we conceded in a shocking array of errors from us. 1-0 and it could be worse for us.

Iborra goal, no control whatsoever, these guys walk through our midfield as if we were a PL team.

Not really, the ball touched his arm but the arm was on the defender's body so it shouldn't have been called.

Mathieu fking sucks.
Our midfield is royally EPL standard.

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
Game showed that some of us were right in being apprehensive about Roberto at RB. Got schooled the entire time he played RB. One of the worst RB performances I have ever seen.
The midfield was pathetic. To go from Xavi and Iniesta to that pile of garbage that played today.
Congrats to Sevilla and especially Emery.First win against us but he should have won many more. His teams have always given us trouble. Even during Pep's peak years, his Valencia were the only team which took us on toe to toe. In fact, I even remember one game in which they had equal possession.

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
I had said it many times, Dani as well. The kid hadn't got tested at right back, was just looking good cause we were doing a better job at controlling the game which gave him less defensive work to do. His only real job up to today was to help keep possession and run forward and cross. Today Sevilla made him do actual work because our midfield was terrible (When is Lucho gonna learn that Masch and Busq can't pair together?) and it showed. Fair play to Sevilla for taking advantage of an obvious weakness in our armor. Not so much to Lucho. I mean how many times does Lucho have to keep repeating mistakes before he learns from them? He should of seen of all these issues last season...yet he still does them.
At least Chelsea lost again.
About the only bright thing today.

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
I think we can safely assume that neither Sandro nor Munir aren't solutions to the problem that is Messi's absence. They're not good enough to fill shoes of that size, and they are way better coming on as subs in later stages of the game against an already tired opponent. Otherwise they're pretty much useless.
Situation is far from perfect but it's not bad either. RM will most likely drop points tonight (hopefully all three) which still sees us ahead or level with them (and only -2 pts behind if they win) with a few easier fixtures ahead, including the Clasico, which is unfortunately at the Bernabeu... Last season we lost quite a few points as well at the beginning but as you might have noticed the leauge will certainly not be decided before the winter break.
So, as to the first point, Munir or Sandro starting is not a good idea. Next game against Rayo at home should be a good opportunity to try out a 4-4-2 or something. Also, here's hoping Lucho sorts things out during this international break and realizes some pretty obvious issues... Mascherano starting alongside Busquets in midfield = catastrophe being one of them!!!
Another thing is we created most chances in one game this season so far yesterday. Just so unlucky and it could have been a different story altogether if lazy ass Pique attacked that ball like mad after Nerman's fk instead of crawling like a turtle to it... he thought he was offside fml!!!
All in all we didn't play that bad as it would seem. Things looked way worse last season when we couldn't even create chances. Now just gotta find them finishing boots and survive until January when Arda and Aleix will finally be eligible to play and hopefully we land a classy playmaker as well!!!

Re: Sevilla vs Barcelona
@linetty. Very insightful post. We played great infact, don't understand why some people like hans, hala etc spew bullshit like we're just hopeless without messi which is infact very far from the truth, like we havn't lost to worse teams with messi in it. The confusion i have in my mind is that by the time the team starts goating and all our superstars starts firing left and right, messi will have returned and revert things to the messi-barcelona again (i can bet on this one). These things take time tbh and once we get over it, we'll be on a roll.. Against sevilla, Neymar, rakitic and barcelona had their best game this season imo.. Just need to work on our finishing..
On a side note, does lucho not see the things we see that are so obvious e.g our mid?
