Re: The Rugby Thread
Anyone catch the All Blacks Wallabies game last night?
Crazy match, it was the most free scoring game between the two ever.
NZ scored the most points ever against Aus, while Aus scored their second highest total against NZ.
Finished 54 - 34 to the ABs

Re: The Rugby Thread
How is my luck bois, All Blacks coming to Newlands for the first time in nearly a decade and no Savea in the championships. We've been waiting for years for them to come back but the Sa vs Nz games are always up north.
The Bledisloe match would have been a lot better had the Aussies shown up the first half. Truly believe it's a mental barrier they can't breach with the lvl of talent the Aussies had the last 6-7 years its ridiculous that they haven't won more than one championship.

Both Bledisloe matches were fantastic

Rugby needs Australia and South Africa to be good again. At the moment the All Blacks are so far ahead it's boring.

Rugby World Cup 2019 Special
Taking place in Japan.
Form surely says that New Zealand will continue their domination of world rugby throughout this decade, and make it three world cup wins in a row.
Could the playing environment of Japan prove to be difficult for them though for some reason? Can England, France, South Africa, Argentina or Australia strike gold with a formula that works for them for this specific world cup? Perhaps too much to ask for.
New Zealand are about to kick off their opening group match against South Africa.

NZ only needed 6 minutes to beat the Springboks, worrying signs for everyone else.

This is the only World Cup game I've watched and I've decided England are the best team ever.

Credit to England, they were just better.
Definitely sucks but I'm hoping anyone but South Africa wins it now. Otherwise they'll equal our three world cup wins.

Re: The Rugby Thread
Although, I had to laugh at ITV's hyperbolic commentary where they described this is as "one of the greatest shocks in World Cup history". England are ranked number 2 in the world, aren't they? I know NZ are amazing but it's not completely unexpected England beat them.
Cheering on Wales tomorrow because a home nations final would be cool. And Wales haven't made a final before iirc.

Exactly, I said half way through the game that if I didn't know any better I'd have thought the All Blacks were wearing white.El Gunner wrote:they played really well tbh. All Blacks are usually that dominant the way they were today

Sounds like the Australian commentary, who directly after the game, were talking about Australia and not England or NZ.
It's also not one of the greatest shocks, anyone could see NZ haven't been at their best this year.

Re: The Rugby Thread
It's definitely a shock because England hadn't reached the final since 2007 while All Blacks are the two-time defending champion and the all-time greatest team of the competition with three wins overall.

Re: The Rugby Thread
The one time I actually wanted the All Blacks to win (so I don't get to hear all the gloating from the Poms at work) and they lose....blarg!
Especially after such a dominant performance against Ireland, I'd say the England result was rather shocking.
On another note, the Wales - SA game was.....zzzzzzzzzz......

Re: The Rugby Thread
Congratz South Africa. By far the better team on the night.
England looked off from the start. Every time they got back into the game, they just gave away a penalty and let SA extend their lead. And their first try was brilliant.
This is karma for the cricket world cup imo.

Congrats to South Africa, they were deserving winners.
England played their final last week and were not good enough tonight.
