Bravo is still a safer choice. Stegen should be starter next season onwards though.

It's very easy to be a safer choice when you are starting. Psicology and confidence is even more important for GKs. He's a better GK and can only improve.

33 is not necessarily old for a GK.
I'm just wondering how long MAtS will have to wait, and how long he will wait.

It's clear Enrique prefers Bravo. Don't think this will change just because Bravo turns one year older hmm

Unbelievable composure with the ball at his feet. Even with Bilbao's intense high pressing, he was able to play it out coolly and help create counter attacks. His passing accuracy under pressure is second to none.

No GK in the world is better than him with the ball at his feet. The ideal goalie for Barca.

He's an improvement over Bravo. Should have been #1 already last season. Dang, he almost left us because of Bravo. Would have been such a massive mistake.

Still made a couple mistakes but that's partially the high press of Athletic and him just now becoming the #1. Plus, it happens when you're the Barca keeper--to everyone.

I look forward to his development over the season. I thought he was good against Bilbao

MaTS had the fourth highest amount of passes in the team against bilbao.

he had a 84% success rate in passing

hopefully he improves he has a lot of potential.

Best passing GK I've ever seen. Neuer still makes better decisions because he is older, but Ter Stegens technique and passing technique is the best I have seen.

Yann Sommer isn't bad either. He was specifically chosen by Gladbach as he could replace ter Stegen best for them as he is a pretty good ball playing goalie as well (in the last match against Leverkusen he had a 87.8% passing accuracy from 41 passes, among them 11 long balls) . ^^

Ter Stegen (3 saves out of 4) has a better penalty record in the Champions League than: Buffon 3/9 and Neuer 2/8.

I think you're completely wrong there. I'm not a fan of his, but his recent performances have been rather crazy.

He saved a great shot against Dybala at the end of out game too. Still, after being meh for so long you can't jump to being the best in such a short amount of time.

Not sure how you come to the conclusion how he was 'meh' for 'so long'?
For example, I recall him being pretty *bleep* amazing in the CL semi against us 2015. Played a good part in winning the CL hmm

He's been shit for Germany, that's true. But that's only a handful of games, and La Liga as well as CL is a much more meaningful level.

Besides, I said best in the world "right now". As in, until Neuer returns.
