Re: Dinamo Zagreb Vs Arsenal [Champions League M1]
This is pure BS
I'm enable to comprehend how we started (again) the season with just 1 striker. A striker who would play as 2nd or even 3rd choice at nearly every top club.

Arteta though, imagine if we have to rely on him in the league. Good lord, the mighty zargreb simply walked over the middle.

I am more worried right now about not having any cover for Coquelin.

Re: Dinamo Zagreb Vs Arsenal [Champions League M1]
Arsenal are masochists who love embarrassing themselves, clearly.
That had all the hallmarks of a trademark terrible Arsenal performance. They start the game with no urgency, pass the ball slowly in front of the other team's defensive block and offer very little movement up top. Zagreb didn't do anything remarkable.
The first goal was a mess. Awful defending. One pass cuts out both Arteta and Cazorla, and neither recover well. Debuchy then goes in too tight on the forward when he can just leave him to the centre back, leaving that huge amount of space for their full-back to run into. Ox doesn't go with him.
Then Giroud makes things worse with his idiocy. I get it, he's not playing well, it's not going well for him this season and he's frustrated, but there was no need to mouth off to the ref. Once he's on that first yellow he was always going to be walking a tightrope. The second yellow is slightly harsh, but ffs man don't give the ref a chance to make the decision.
1-0 down with 11 men you can come back. 1-0 down with ten men you can still come back but it's harder. 2-0 with ten men... it's pretty much hopeless. Again, awful defending for the set-piece. Gibbs and Arteta don't even get off the ground. Koscielny can't get round quick enough and makes a weak attempt to challenge the player. Pretty much a free goal for Zagreb.
We looked a lot better with ten men, when Ozil and Alexis were playing free roles. We started playing forward more, getting in behind, actually looking like a threat. Walcott comes on, looks a threat, scores a goal. It's all about movement and pace. Giroud doesn't have that.
I thought Ozil was very poor, though. Gave the ball away, wasn't strong enough on the ball, didn't look like he was working hard enough in the last twenty or so minutes. Cazorla had zero influence on the game as well. Debuchy and Arteta both looked old and slow.
Qualification isn't in doubt (yet), since there're still five games to go.
Can only hope we don't play as shit against Chelsea.

Massive fan of Giroud who is playing even worse after Arsene decided to put his trust in him and not buying anyone.
one of the worst first choice strikers we've ever had
Chamakh did more in CL iirc

Re: Dinamo Zagreb Vs Arsenal [Champions League M1]
The game was lost in the first half with the goal and the sending off. We should have started quickly and put this inexperienced Dynamo team under pressure but instead we let them settle, string passes and build attacks. have a go at us, dangerous game to play at this level. We were very poor in midfield, Arteta hindered us, Santi had probably is worse game in a while. Giving the ball away, slowing down play. We missed Coquelin's bite, urgency aggression in there badly.
The goal we conceded were very poor defensively, you make mistakes like these at this level you will pay for it. The second one is stuff you see at school boy level, poor from Gibbs.
After this game, the likes of Ox, Debuchy and Arteta can forget about being starters for a while. I know they haven't add much playing time but it was very poor from them,
you expect a bit more from players who are fighting for a first team spot

Why are we so bad at turning a result around? It seems like whenever we concede first there is just no chance of getting back in the game. Wenger sets the team up so poorly that we keep conceding instead of scoring, I don't think we even train situations where we are losing because we just panic whether it's some shit team or not.

Re: Dinamo Zagreb Vs Arsenal [Champions League M1]
It wasn't even Giroud's finishing tonight that was the issue. He didn't hold the ball up once. Some random Croatian defender was bullying him the whole half. Then instead of channeling his frustration into his play and fighting harder he goes and moans at the ref and throws a tantrum when he doesn't get a foul.
It was one of those nights where you doubt if the quality in depth is actually there like we think it is. Gibbs played well enough despite his mistake for the second goal and Debuchy at least had a better second half, but Arteta, unsurprisingly, looked like a 34 year old with little playing time coming off a long injury, and Ox just went missing. This was meant to be his season apparently but his last few appearances have been unimpressive to say the least.
It's in these situations where you really want a solid system to fall back on. Even when you go behind you can still trust in the set-up and how you're playing. Frankly, our system amounts to sticking creative players on the pitch and hoping something comes of it.

Definitely disappointed in Ox. Been poor with England aswell.
I thought Joel Campbell was OK from the "depth" players, he has some fighting spirit in him.
