No way with Dani. That first goal was all on him and he got beat for the second one too. He's been taking a lot of bad defensive angles to start this season. I expect that from Marcelo... but Dani can't be doing that.

LOL, Benz goes down with over exertion in trying to receive an excellent pass and Bale steps up to miss the sitters that Benz normally would miss!

On a more positive side I was impressed with both Theo and Marcos Llorente.

You can go on and on about Dani and losing the ball in the bright mid day sun, but fact is we need to score more than 1 goal a game to win.

And I see Nick misreading Zidane saying he played a different formation than he actually did. He played a 4- 2-3-1 and told the players to play as much width as possible. Lucas did play a very good game on right and was actually well backed up by Dani (not dismissing his defensive goof). On the left between Theo and Marcelo they were great often switching roles. The problems were, Raul played extremely well, Levante despite their many flaws does play a very good tight defense, questionable miscalls by ref (again!) and very poor goal scoring capabilities.

This should've been such an easy win. It would've been if our players didn't try to hammer every single shot. So many shots blasted over the goal.

when we didn't score in the first half it just looked to me like one of those games where nothing would go in, and cr misfiring all over the place. i didn't expect a loss though, but trust us to go sleeping on defense. smh. its early in the season, but the gap pushes all the confidence towards our rivals. the tools need resharpening

The thread was designed for us Madrid fans to gauge who was the best during each match regardless of the result. Mind you, it is quite difficult to choose the best out of the performance.

I want to say the whole team but I'll go with

Casemiro - Absolute crucial, haven't seen any stats but i bet they are immaculate
Modric - Exquisite performance, completely ran the midfield
The defence - I can't give a single name because they all gave 10/10 performances
