London help!

Hi Guys,

I will be in London for a Week in October then a 12 day Euro cruise from Barcelona. I will be staying in South Kensington. Any recommendations for restaurants, pubs, entertainment, areas to hang out, areas to avoid shopping etc other than the usual (Buckingham Palace, London Eye etc..) I am hoping some Londoners can give me some real local advice.

Alright since it seems no one really helped Sbaggio out on this am i crazy in thinking i'm going to get any solid advice here?

I'll be in London for 4 nights during NYE this year, whats the best location to stay at, how is the public transport, is the PT good enough that if we stay out a bit further we'll be okay?

Don't know how useful it is but might as well check it out.

I did a lot of research and I will be staying in Kensington it seems to be one of the most central locations. I bought oyster cards for the underground and the original bus tix for a couple of days. If you stay further out make sure you are fairly close to a metro station. The cheapest way to get to London from Heathrow is the tube. Hope this helps.

We decided to stay in shoreditch.

When i booked i never *bleep* realised london had two airports, i also heard about heathrow only, but seems like we *bleep* got gatewick, any tips on the best way to get from their to Centeral london, i guess the trains? Anyone know if Uber would be cheaper if its split between 3 people?

Also can i get a oyster card when i get there?
