I think in the case of this comment the word 'peptard' is adequate

It's not top notch.
It's just as revisionist as the anti-Pep stuff, only into the other direction.

Re: Pep at Bayern 2015 - two seasons in.
Those straw man arguments suck. I think you can point out that Pep isn't doing a great job without having people tell you that Jupp wouldn't have won 7 triples by now.
Nobody says you can't go out against the likes of Real or Barca, it's the manner of getting sunk that's made people doubt Pep. And it's not like Jupp was a perfect coach, or had a incomparably great career before that, but he was on a bloody roll at Bayern, had a great understanding with the players, and they with each other, and that all went away when Pep came in.

Honestly what does analyzing Jupp 40 years of managerial career has to do with this discussion though?
Even if Pep is the better manager that does not make him the better manager or the better fit for Bayern though.
Bayern should have hired a lesser known coach that would have continued Jupp team then hiring Pep. It was a bad hire.

Re: Pep at Bayern 2015 - two seasons in.
I like Pep as much as Barcelona fans like him but for his relative success he has currently with Bayern, getting pummeled in the UCL semis by Real Madrid and Barcelona two years in a row is actually unacceptable and would call any respected managers' tenure in question. Far less for someone as accomplished as Guardiola.
Hans would probably say "two league titles and two semis is relative? When was Real's title again?" to which he can suck an egg, hypothetically of course. But at the same time, Bayern didn't hire Pep to just win the league but to roll out a new age of Bayern dominance. Both at home and abroad.
Anyway, he isn't failing at Bayern, think he is doing a decent to good job so far.

He also lost the Pokal to a Dortmund team that spend 70% of the season in the relegation zone.

Re: Pep at Bayern 2015 - two seasons in.
it is not about where Pep reached and failed...2 BL titles and CL semis is not bad at all but the way he lost last season against Madrid, losing 3-0 against Barca away, not able to score a single away goal then even the domestic results vs Borussia, vs Ausburg, vs Wolfsburg. He got outclassed by Carlo in the last season and this time by Enrique in Europe, and domestically also he lost games. So for me, he should have seen it coming that his methods are failing with the set of players he have. So he should have done better with what he had

Re: Pep at Bayern 2015 - two seasons in.
lol the overreactions on this. I swear had Pep only lost by 1 goal aggregate most of you would be singing a different song, but the same chorus.
Madrid loss is on him, which he even said. This loss against us missing 3-4 key players and still they had the chance to make a comeback in Munich and people are overreacting? We took Saurez off and looked like scrubs in the attacking third and Bayern without Robbery/Alaba would of course struggle.
The way he lost against us is because Messi was unplayable no coach or team in that form will stop him.

It was a stupid idea to make this thread tbh.
I should have anticipated people just write the same shit over and over again.

not a stupid idea to make a thread, but not to make a poll with it. Because these things are being discussed from a quite while

Why? In between all the "Pep coached Germany to the WC" and the "Pep couldn't even coach little league", there is a couple decent arguments in here.

Reasonable fan: Pep has obviously underachieved. It's there for everyone to see. Bayern are a level or three below where they were before he took over.
Pep fanboy: Oh right because he's supposed to win trebles every year, right!?!?
Rinse. Repeat.

Re: Pep at Bayern 2015 - two seasons in.
Pep needs to have one more season at Bayern though just to see he if he really learns through mistakes or he continues with what we have seen. It is not harming them in the league anyways so Europe is the place where he needs to prove that he can do better than last two seasons. If I were a Bayern fan, I wont mind if they finish second in the league and go on to win or make it at least to the final of CL

Nah Pep is a great coach to have. Nobody's perfect.
Euromax is very welcome in the future though
