Liverpool v QPR
QPR have conceded the most goals in the league and are the worst away team in the league, so at least we should have some joy in this one.
I wonder whether Gerrard is fit or not, this is our second to last home game this season and there might be a sense of goodbye in the air already...

Have modest expectations from this game:
No Emre or Hendo as wing-back
No Balo as lone-striker

Well rumour last game was that Yesil would get called up. I hope that they try him at least. He has movement, passion and likes to get into the box. He's in good form right now also.

I'd like Yesil to start the last 4 games of the season.

I'd like to see all three of Flanagan, Rossiter and Yesil get a couple of games. It's the perfect opportunity. Although I don't know is Flanagan fit even now. Such awful luck on the lad to miss the whole season after making his break through last season. And is his contract running out in the summer? I thought we would keep him around, but oh well.

If Rodgers starts Balotelli again, it means either he is going nowhere in the next season or .. ..

Re: Liverpool v QPR
I don't see how Brannagan is better than Rossiter at basically anything except being older and a bit more experienced, but Rossiter even plays with more maturity so I don't see it as a factor.
Wouldn't mind seeing some of the young guys get some reps if we are winning, but we still need to secure a top 6 finish and it's not guaranteed if we keep playing as we have.

For starts, Rossiter has been out for months with a broken ankle. So no chance he's getting any minutes this season.

Given the Flanagan conundrum, I would like see Manquillo start the remaining games. This might give some idea if he is worth keeping.

I wasn't advocating for minutes for Rossiter, I was referring to your Brannagan > Rossiter thing.

Why?
What's the difference between 5,6, or 7? They all get Europa League when Arsenal beats Villa in the FA Cup (which they will do). They've changed the rules this season so FA Cup finalist isn't guaranteed shit.
Fighting for top 6 That's honestly the most mediocre thing I've heard in my life.
This season is over and it has been one of the worst seasons in recent memory with some of the WORST football on show EVER.
Give guys like Yesil, Rossiter a chance to show if they can be useful for next season or not.

Re: Liverpool v QPR
Top 6 is the only thing that guarantees Europe. I for one still want us playing in Europe next season, and think there are still positives to draw from this season. You act like Liverpool's existence rests upon the back of this season. What were you saying last year or the year before when Rodgers brought beautiful football back to Liverpool and made everyone dream about the title? Maybe it was a curse more than a blessing because it brought entitlement to some of us and expectations that were beyond the point that this team was at after losing a top 3 player in the world.
Do I want CL? Do I want a title? Do I want trophies? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean I think we're going to just walk into them especially since we are not at a point yet where we're competing with the top 4 financially. We are developing a team right now full of very bright young players, and if we infuse that core with ready-made talent of the elite variety we can definitely challenge for all of that next season and Rodgers knows how to work with elite talent as we've already seen. This season was a big stumbling block and a chance to learn and grow. Still making Europe and being in the hunt for top 4 for a while isn't unexpected with a young, inexperienced team with new challenges to the players and the manager.
Get off your high horse and come back to earth. This team is primed to go places it is just missing a few pieces which will hopefully be addressed in the summer.

Don't know why are you lashing out like that. James have merely stated the situation we are in.Cujo wrote:Get off your high horse and come back to earth. This team is primed to go places it is just missing a few pieces which will hopefully be addressed in the summer.
This is a promising squad. How can you say with conviction that this team will go places when you are merely hopeful that missing pieces will addressed this summer??? What if we the problems aren't addressed this summer??? Will this team still go places???

Re: Liverpool v QPR
#LFC team is Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho, Lambert.
Glad to see Lambert and Lallana getting more minutes.
Can at a full back role makes me cringe nowdays.

Can should be left fullback if any. Johnson is a natural RB anyway. Oh well...on we go!

Can is right footed as well. Johnson has a better left foot when his brain works.

Rio Ferdinand's wife has passed away. As much as he's been a c*nt over the years, I have to offer my condolences to he and the rest of her family. Very sad news.

A weird thread to do that, but yeah, they've got three under-10 kids as well, really sad that.
Anyway, let's see what Lambert can do.
Would also keep an eye on Fer and Caulker as in should they be transfer targets for us.

Fer is quite talented... Not sure about Caulker.
Yeah but Can played left back quite a bit in the Bundesliga supposedly. Never heard of him playing RB.

Re: Liverpool v QPR
A nice goal by Coutinho, but I don't get why QPR's quick goal was ruled out? Did it go out of bounds?
Anyway, I hope we'll score a couple more.
Ps. Sterling's been shit again.
