We will probably see Ramos in midfield again
Chica looks to be ok but if he isnt we still have Jese


Time to continue in the same vain with confidence up tenfold after the atleti win

You are perfectly right it was which is all the more reason not to take this game lightly. Hopefully Ramos is played as a midfielder because lets face it if he is fit he'll always play and from midfield his mistakes won't be as costly

I think having Chica instead of Benz could be a plus in this game because they'll be very fired up and we need an annoying player to run all over their defence disrupting their shape

Damn Bale is only out for two weeks. When he gets back Ramos is going back to partner Pepe while Varane will be relegated to the bench.

Am I The only who thought last night's lineup was tremendously strong defensively and that we should stick to it until Modric gets back?

Honestly I wouldn't put too much weight on our defensive performance until we meet a team that can pass the ball. It was inevitable that Ramos, Pepe and Varane would neutralise Mandzukic and Garcia due to their aerial strength. Atleti never really troubled us. They were happy to sit back and try and steal a goal or go to penalties

Celta is definitely a bigger test, they dominated Barca last time they played although they lost and they troubled us alot at home. I am expecting them to really press our team from the get go which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Carlo started Ramos to get some physical prescence into our midfield. Offensively we might suffer as he isn't really a CM or an overly great passer. For a defender his passing is great but as a midfielder you need alot more than that

Here's the essence of Carlo's press conference:

1. Ramos will be back in defence against Vigo.
2. Bale will be back against Sevilla.
3. Benzema might be back for the first leg.
4. Chicha will start Against Vigo.

He said that Ramos will be back in defence. I think he'll choose Pepe over Varane. And as a result, Illarra seems to be the guy next in line to fill the vacant hole in midfield. So I guess it's a classic 4-4-2:

I don't know about this. Vigo presses way too much, way more than Malaga. I'm not sure Illarra can take it. I hope he does though.

I wanted the same lineup that beat Atlético to be tested again against Vigo. Oh well...I hope it all works out for the best.

I am pretty sure Ramos will start in midfield against both Sevilla and Juve. We need somebody who is calm on the ball against Celta especially with their pressing so Illarra makes sense. But wouldn't at all be surprised if Carlo went all hipster on us and started Khedira

Knew Celta were going to be hard to defend against. Glad we got the 3-2 goal, we still need another one to be comfortable

Our Defense needs to man up...Marcelo,Carvajal,Ramos every one awful with their positioning so far.

If we are smart we buy Chicharitto.....perfect substitute player.

After that Atleti performance this was shocking.
We really should've lost or drawn this. Ref make a few dubious calls today in our favour.

That was disturbing stuff from our defence. Not a single one played well. Carlo had to subb in two extra defenfer like a catenaccio coach because we couldn't keep it together. I am glad thats finally over. Sevilla next week and Valencia the week after are our two last "finals" we are going to need to defend alot better than this if we are to come out with wins against those two

His worst game ever imo.

Nope but no one was so to single him out would be totally unfair.
