Have you won 13 consecutive CL trophies with OM, with Andre Ayew being top scorer with over 9000 hattricks in the process yet?

After the first four victories, playing with l'OM gets a bit too easy Very Happy

roma's gonna be quality in FM12

we all know how FM overrates the following players: Kjaer, Angel, Bojan, Pjanic, Lamela

with the above players and de rossi as capitano futuro, roma's future XI is already set in stone in FM

i'm still playing FM11. 2nd season now with siena (just got promoted from serie B). hopefully i'll win a scudetto or europa league before FM12 comes out. i already won the cup

Maybe a stupid question but "how" do you guys play this game? I've sat down to play for hours but can't even get through the transfer season in that amount of time, and then each game seemingly takes forever Sad Is there a way to speed things up or move through seasons quicker? Or do you have have to be alot more patient and just play through seasons slowly Razz

used to take me 6 months to get through a season when I played the games on "Full Match". i have the match speed slider 2 notches below full. it's the fastest i can go while still being able to observe the game properly

now i play on "Extended Highlights only" and I get through a season in a month. also with match speed 2 notches below full.

my friend plays "Key Highlights only" and gets through in couple of weeks. he plays on normal speed though

and i've seen some ppl just pre-set their tactics and "holiday" through a season and finish a season a day

if it's your first time playing FM, don't tinker with training and tactics too much during pre-season. it takes too much time and nothing should be set in stone during pre-season anyway. using pre-season to experiment. give your players a role, (box to box, inside forward, etc), but don't mess with the individual tactical sliders

I can finish a season in 2 days or a day depending on what I'm doing. I usually have it on full speed commentary only and 2d classic then I switch to the shots screen.

FM requires a lot of patience. But the rewards are amazing. There's nothing like your tactics completely shutting off Barcelona or one of your youth players becoming world class. Starting with a smaller side and making it great or earning that needed CL spot. I've spent like a week just in transfer season hunting for targets or negotiating for a desperately wanted player.

I started out as you, but once I got going I was awed by the depth of the whole game, and once I got bored I instantly tried out other clubs and leagues just to see how it would turn out. If you're losing games, don't mind reloading them Very Happy Keep on trying different tactics until you find suitable combinations. There are also some great guides I read to start out, Tactical Theorems and Tactical Visions. Check them out.

Full match? Damn man, you have PATIENCE. You can clearly tell how well the team is playing by watching the main highlights or consulting your assistant.

depends how much you tinker and micro-manage tactics during a match. i used to do full match and didn't mind because i tinker a lot. i don't just sit there and watch. i like having my team in control every second of the match. so mid-game i would make dozens of minor adjustments. i was also paranoid the AI engine would cheat when it skips time frames between highlights

i eventually realized full matches took too long (6 months/season) and i switched to extended highlights. full matches were extremely fun for me (and yes, requires a lot of patience), but it just wasn't time efficient if i wanted to take a small 2nd division team to the top.

with extended highlights, i'm doing 1 month/season now with still a lot of tactical micromanaging

depends if you work/school

i work full time, so it takes me longer than most of you guys. i don't play FM at work, but i still go on genie scout and look up players, while using Excel to pre-plan my tactics and XI for the next match

then, once i get home, i'm all set to play Laughing

so safe to say i spend most of my FM "career" on Microsoft Excel than actually playing the game. it's an addiction :coffee:

I took Southampton to the CL and won it again recently. What I do is, until I get a stable set of results with my squad, I watch matches with key highlights on.

After the team stabilises and begins to gel well, I just holiday the matches against smaller teams, while play smartly against the big ones.

My current Southampton squad has a player who is better than Messi. Messi has a CA of 194, while this guy has a CA of 197. It's a little scary. He was generated by the game.

thinking about doing a stoke city career on FM12. i already won a bunch of shit with everton in FM11 and it was a tad easy (won carling+FA+league+champions+supercup+shield+FCWC in my second season in charge LOL) , so i'm looking for a team weaker than everton in the EPL. dont think i can handle championship. itll be too boring for me since i dont know the teams. the only 2. div i'd do is serie B

of course my stoke city career will come after i take roma to glory Very Happy
