Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel -- the co-screenwriter of the original Swedish adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo -- is reportedly being eyed by Sony to direct and oversee a rewrite of the recently-revived movie version of The Dark Tower.
Deadline reports that talks between Sony Pictures and Arcel (who also directed the Oscar-nominated A Royal Affair) are expected to begin shortly.
"Arcel, when he was getting going in Denmark, taught himself to speak and read English in order to consume Stephen King’s books in the writer’s native tongue," according to Deadline. "Arcel is a huge fan of The Dark Tower and knows the series well. That impressed the studio, and he showed with Dragon Tattoo that he could go dark, which is important in this series.
Based on the Stephen King novel series, The Dark Tower movie and TV adaptations were resurrected by Sony and MRC earlier this year. The two companies will co-finance the film, as well as the TV series.
"I’m excited that The Dark Tower is finally going to appear on the screen," King said back in April. "Those who have traveled with Roland and his friends in their search for the Dark Tower are going to have their long-held hopes fully realized. This is a brilliant and creative approach to my books."

Thoughts McLewis? I personally think its a good choice, based on his adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
I can't wait for castings to be announced
Very encouraging. Love his dedication. That's the type of director this project needs.
He's got my support
Now bring it to life ffs!

Swedish version was his. Haven't seen it yet. Probably ought to. Most say it's the better of the two.

Loved Starred Up as well but I just can't ever see it being better than The Green Mile.

I don't think it was better than the Green Mile or Shawshank. I haven't really seen many other prison films so it's in my top 3.
EDIT that. Papillon Oldie but a goodie. Shawshank and Papillon are untouchable for me. Green Mile 3rd and then Starred Up.

Papillon is a solid movie but it's not even Steve McQueen's best, to be honest.

Escape Plan and Death Race!
But seriously, I have no idea what is or isn't on Netflix. Would suggest Papillon, Cool hand Luke, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Great Escape (it sorta counts), and The Last Castle.

Seen Shawshank Redemption.
Unfortunately rest aren't on Netflix.
Some awful films are instead like Isle of dogs

No prison movies but there are other great movies on Netflix UK.
Fargo, Frutivale Station, Reservoir Dogs, Dallas Buyers Club, The Hunt, Raid 2, 50/50, Boyz N The Hood.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Watched Maisie Williams's TV movie Cyberbully.
Quite good for a 1 hour long low-budget thriller tbf.
Our lil Maise carried the whole movie on her shoulders and has done quite a remarkable job at that i felt.
There's immense talent there, surely.
8/10.
Check it out guys.
