Re: The Movie House - Part 4
In all seriousness though the original mad max films are cult classics, they don't really hold up very well from a technical point of view.

They don't at all. Saw them 2 days ago. They were sooooo low budget.
The money and technology just wasn't there yet, but now he got it and his vision (George Miller's) has finally been fulfilled.
Also the people saying it isn't like a Mad Max movie
Please go ffs

Yeah it's quite an eye sore really I enjoyed them for what they were though.
Part of me wishes the new Mad Max game would coincide with the film, but i suppose it doesn't matter much considering they are nothing alike.

That game looks so great. Could it finally be a good film to game apatation?
Also Mad Max confirmed as Nathan Drake.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Film to game adaption is a tricky term as technically the game uses the license but has nothing to do with the film. It's pretty much as the same with the Arkham series and Batman films, they share some traits with the Nolan films but in general it's more just the license than anything else.

Really liked it. Very unique, avoided all cliches and was a great story with great twists. The Star Wars duo killed it with their acting.

Ex Machina what a beautiful film, had me glued from beginning to end. Very unique and amazing story.
My god Oscar Isaac is such a talented actor. I've seen 7 of his movies now just because he was in it. He starting to get the love he deserves, A-list actor if there ever was one.
If you haven't seen A Most Violent Year and Inside Llewyn Davis, I recommend you watch both as he's fantastic in both.
And Domhnall Gleeson adding with his own goat performance. Another amazing actor.

watched "Copenhagen" last night.
So so nostalgic for me since I lived in the city, and a great movie to boot to.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Just saw Mad Max Best Action movie I have seen in a very very long time. Some of the action sequences were outrageousluy goat.
Charlize Theron looking just as stunning bald as she does with hair Tom Hardy Nicholas Hoult All the hot girls
Furiosa and Max characters were unbelievably boss.
It was the best way to follow up Ex Machina from last night

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Just saw Mad Max a few hours ago and I was pretty impressed. A very simple movie, with a very simple plot that allows its creators to expend all of their energy on the style in which that story is told and the result is utterly amazing.
90% of films made about plots like this are utter garbage, but what carried this film beyond it's awesome action sequences were the cast. Hardy, Theron, Hoult and even Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Zoe Kravitz did quite well. Really liked Riley Keogh (fun fact: She is Elvis' granddaughter) as the red-head wife. Didn't care for the other 2 really. It also didn't escape me that the main villain (played by Hugh Keays-Byrne) in this one was also the main villain in the Road Warrior. Love that homage by Miller in recasting this guy 35 years after he starred in the original.
For me, I think Nicholas Hoult probably gave the best performance here. Nux was easily the most layered character and I really enjoyed him.

Road Warrior was Mad Max 2 though Villain in 2 was Bennett from Commando mostly Bennett ffs
Also the idea that there isn't plot, or atleast a story pisses me off sometimes. There is really a lot explained in the imagery. Film is first and foremost a visiually medium, and the dialogue should serve the imagery, which it does to full extent. Rarely have I seen a movie that could remove all dialogue and you still would understand all of the story and the characters' emotions.
There always seems to be a opinion amongst people that exposition=story, but it's really not always the case, you could see so much story in the visuals alone. All the cars had their own stories etc.
(this criticism isn't directed at you at all, just a general feeling).
