Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
After the yellow, cleaned forgot Veratti playing. Not one of his best matches...

Yeah that false 9 against 5 men Italian defence is really bad, only a 3-0 win!!

Genuinely shocked how easy a striker-less Spain actually was getting into their final 3rd. Other than that minor issue, excellent match by Spain. Isco literally ruined Veratti and I get to see Villa in a Spain jersey again.

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
Italy just look old down the middle. De Rossi, Barzagli and Buffon looked geriatric... and Bonucci not much better.
I would also mention that the score is extremely flattering to Spain. They were the better team. But Italy's finishing was awful while Spain was unusually efficient. This should have been 2-1 game in reality.
2 goals were on Buffon. He was VERY slow to react on both of Isco's goals.

I'll also add that 2 very early DUMB yellows to De Rossi and Verratti made it very hard for them to defend aggressively.
Italy looks like a team in transition to me.

No way. Barzagli and De Rossi were MUCH better than Verrati and Bonucci. Those two were the worst players on the pitch by far.

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
In reality, it finished 3-0 to Spain Sports. And Veratti was horrid all night. Couldn't tackle, couldn't defend and certainly couldn't dictate the midfield. And every time he faced Isco, he became a highlight reel for youtube vids to promote Isco's dribbling.
Agree with the mad scientist, Barzagli and De Rossi didn't shower themselves in shit like Veratti did. Also, it was Bonucci's weird foul that caused the free kick.

Spinazzola is the only player that looked decent for Italy.
Playing a two man midfield against Spain away from home... not really a fan on that one.

Yeah Ventura screwed up. The organization and pressure for the most part looked good but 2 mid vs like 6 was just not working. He should have changed to a 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 quickly.

Re: World Cup 2018 Qualifiers Discussion
Ventura is not going to take this team very far and the FIGC won't fire him, unfortunately. Ventura is a small club manager that the players don't respect. If he had balls and confidence in himself he would start Donnaruma in goal, Buffon is too slow these days.

Verratti was pathetic Don't tell me he's another Ozil level luxury player in that every facet of his game turns to shit unless he's in the comfortably better team on the night.
