Apparently one of Barto's trump cards in the election campaign could be none other than Real Madrids Isco. Yes.... ISCO

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
Pogba is in no ones election mandate afaik There's Iborra in Bartomeu's mandate (reportedly) and Laporta is good friends with Raiola (Pogba's agent) and says that Paul is excited to join Barca.
Also, Laporta again on the sponsor issue: "Nobody believes this story about Qatar. The Qatari contract is like the secret of Coca Cola. We have various options, not only one."

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
http://www.espnfc.us/barcelona/story/2504814/barcelona-candidates-blast-gerard-deulofeu-departure
Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Farre has hit out at the sale of Gerard Deulofeu to Everton, saying: "They've destroyed La Masia."
On Thursday, Everton announced they had agreed a deal to sign the player for €6 million.
Deulofeu, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Goodison Park, has agreed a three-year contract with an option for a further season and will join on July 1.
But Farre voiced anger at the departure of the home-grown winger, with Marca quoting him as saying it showed there were problems with Barcelona's renowned academy and youth system.
His sentiments were echoed by fellow candidate Toni Freixa, quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Deulofeu's departure is an example and consequence of the fact that the current La Masia model isn't the best.
"We have to identify what's happened and solve it so that it doesn't happen again."
Agusti Benedito, another candidate, said he believed Deulofeu was "a player with the qualities to have stayed at Barcelona."
But he added: "I'm not in a position to say whether it's a mistake to let him leave or not, because there are probably factors we're not aware of."
Despite outgoing club president Josep Maria Bartomeu having stepped down to fight the election campaign, business -- including the sale of Deulofeu -- is still being done at the Camp Nou.
But Joan Laporta, standing for a second stint as president, said it was wrong for such deals to be agreed before the election of a new board on July 18.
"There is a lack of ethics," he added. "For sure, for a month, the interim board could have waited until the new president arrived.
"It is an income which will be attributed to the outgoing directors. I do not know what reasons the interim board would have. In this way they could sell any player, which should not be done."

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
Well to me its common sense to leave all decisions on hold untill everything is settled. It doesnt even matter if its the right or wrong decision, we shouldnt be doing anything untill it is all settled.
You cant make decisions that other people have to live with.

Bartomeu (presidential candidate): "It'd be good if there's another signing before pre-season starts on 13 July, to cover for Xavi." [ara]
Yeah right... He wouldn't play until January anyway you moron... It would be better for your campaign but not for the team, ugh
I'll be rejected if he wins the elections. Such a bellend

Barcelona ex-president Joan Laporta, who hopes to take up the same position again, has announced this Saturday that former player and coach Johan Cruyff will be involved with his electoral campaign, because "he is motivated, full of ideas and wants to do things."

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
Bartomeu and his team already resigned, why the *bleep* is the club still doing transfers? They should seriously cease all activity until the new board steps in. When does transfer window close? Last day of august right? Him setting up the election mid July really gives the new board like hardly any time to come in do any moves without them being rushed.
Really sick and tired of that moron

I have been wondering the same thing. If he has resigned then is he only staying as the caretaker and how much power does the caretaker have?

Barça articles of association say that the caretaker board (which are member's of Bartomeu board that will not run again for elections) has the power to complete any act related to the general business of Barça. It is doubtful if this includes transfers, but they asked to Barça lawyers and concluded they could make transfers and are trying to take the most advantadge of this to favour Barto.

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
Well they sold Deulofeu and Montoya for peanuts, and it seems like allot of people aren't happy about it (especially the Deulofeu deal). If anything it sounds like these moves are hurting Farto more than anything

Thanks for clarifying this.
Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
So... apparently Garcia Pimienta was offered the B team job and already planned the preseason and decided which players will be promoted and the board informed him he won't continue and some other lad will get the job. Pimienta was in La Masia since 2004 and they're being disrespectful towards him. Another step of Bartmoeu towards destroying La Masia.
There's big fuss over this around the club. Pimienta was one of the most respected coaches in La Masia over the years.

Re: 2015 Presidential Elections
Corriere dello Sport claims Pogba will only join Barcelona if Laporta wins elections... Doubt there is any truth to this... it was Barto who appointed Braida solely to get Pogba....
