Re: Jordon Ibe
There's still 18 (at the very least) games for him. I think he will get considerable minutes (though not as much as he would have got at Derby) and I hope he makes the most of those. There's this suggestion that he will play LWB but I feel he will rotate with/cover for Raheem/Coutinho.

Called him Robbery / the next big thing and even claimed he should be a first team player when we were near the top. Was saying this when he was on the bench looking to be loaned out. Surely that's worthy enough?

I would like to see him start against WHU, may be as LWB. Not sure about his defensive astuteness though.

Re: Jordon Ibe
I have seen some comparison of Ibe with Markovic and I think both have almost same ceiling with their potential although different type of players, at least now it seems so. Ibe needs to get more chances otherwise this call back is going to be such a waste for that player.

Re: Jordon Ibe
After his five-minute cameo against Aston Villa, he was ineligible for the next three games. He will be ineligible again against Bolton. So I hope he gets some minutes against WHU. May be a second-half substitute for Coutinho or Raheem.

Re: Jordon Ibe
No doubt he was very good in attack. But let's be honest, he wasn't good defending. I might even venture to say that he neglected that part of his duty and left Emre to cover HUGE swaths to cover.
But he definitely looks promising as an attacker. Very good on the ball and on one2one. Don't know about you guys, but I feel with Ibe, Raheem and Sturridge; it's worth trying the 433 again.

Agree. Didn't think he was as effective defensively as he was moving forward. It does take time to adjust to that position though.
Still needs more time to develop though. He failed to beat his LB constantly, though got us corners in the process.
Definitely a talent, but needs a lot more time.

Re: Jordon Ibe
He definitely did more than what Markovic did in his last two games, attacking wise. I know it is all coming back to his comparison with Markovic but the comparison is valid since both are competing for the same position. So if Markovic is still not fit, I would give Ibe more game time so that he can developed even more.

Before Sterling became Sterling i thought Ibe would be the first to flourish, he has it in him, need BR to groom him.

Re: Jordon Ibe
#1. The loan-spell allowed him to play regularly
#2. That allowed him to make himself noticeable
#3. Which eventually resulted in the recall
#4. Made most of the opportunities he got
#5. That will now ensure regular pitch-time
#6. Which will allow his continued development

Re: Jordon Ibe
Ibe looks the ****ing goods guys. I thought he was ready for the team in pre-season, and he definitely looks it now. I don't disagree with the notion that he could become a very powerful striker if converted and he can become clinical. Otherwise he will still be a fantastic winger with his pace, strength and runs.

Re: Jordon Ibe
Saw this too:
Beast.
I highlighted the contribution that Jordon Ibe made at Everton in my last round-up, and the young man did not disappoint in this game either. Top dribblers across Europe complete around four per game on average, yet Ibe dribbled past a Spurs player five times in the first half, and six times in total. He also completed the most final third passes of any Liverpool player - 11 - and won the joint-most aerial duels too (three). Ibe goes from strength to strength and will be hard to displace in the Liverpool starting line-up.
Beast.

Didn't saw his trademark 'cut-in & shoot' against Saints. Feel like he should have goal soon.

I would of left him on and taken Cou of yesterday and deployed IBE as a AM, would of been nice to see. Looked like he had more legs as well.

He's right footed, he should play on the left for that. Like Robben is left footed and plays on the right. I think Ibe played on the left for Derby and I really really hope Rodgers tries him on the left soon.

Re: Jordon Ibe
Right, but as we saw in previous games, he drifts inside and shoots (with his right-foot). Didn't saw any of those yesterday . I had a feeling that with his quality of shots and the drenched/slippery pitch, keeper would have had trouble saving.Art Morte wrote:iftikhar wrote:Didn't saw his trademark 'cut-in & shoot' against Saints. Re: Jordon Ibe
How can you drift inside from the right and shoot with your right foot? x)
Those haven't been cut-ins as such, he's just had the space to shoot with his right foot from the right side, imo.

Re: Jordon Ibe
I like Ibe on the right. He makes good cuts in across the middle of the pitch at times which opens him up for shooting with either foot as he gets deeper in, and he's also good at attacking the lines and making short crosses or drilled passes along the ground with his strength and pace. He is a good winger IMO. A lot of players get muscled out along the byline or right at the goalline but Ibe not only has the pace and dribbling to get to those spots but the strength to hold off defenders and make plays out of them as well. That's valuable.
