Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
Life is so cruel. This is the biggest/most prestigious game we've played since the double cup finals in 2012 and we go into the game as absolute clowns.
Have absolutely no confidence in this garbage team. I just hope we don't get embarrassed badly as I've been talking us big since the draw to a shit ton of people.
A win is so unlikely that I would be willing to quit goallegacy for a month if we somehow we were able to win this
Losing with any score under 3 is ideal
A draw would be a miracle
Win would be the end of the world.

I would have loved if Art created this thread, it makes our games much more interesting recently
Hames, irrespective of our form, i dont think we will lose this game so easily. I am sure we will definitely get something out of this game

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
Balotelli had a shocker against QPR; hopefully he's trying to learn from it and play wiser against Madrid.
Coutinho should start.
I'm trying to think of other things that we could change or which might switch on their own in our favour, but I'm coming up with nothing.
However, once the kick-off is getting closer, I'll be full of blind hope. We're playing Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
I have no doubt that we will give our best performance of the season so far, probably only little less than that Spurs game. It is just that result wont be in our favour because of our shoddy defense.
Madrid are overrated like shite in this season, raping all scrub sides in this season till now. They will have a game of this season against us.

they lost 4-2 against Sociede, 2-1 against Atletico, and won against Ludegorets 2-1 (away but still for such an overrated team that is like nothing). We will be fine...

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
btw...my team would be:
----------------------Mig------------------------
Manquillo------Skrtel----Sakho/Kolo---Moreno
---------------------Gerrard---------------------
----------Hendo----------------Allen-----------
---Lallana----------Sterling-----------Cou------
The only way we win this game, is to play with high energy and intensity. Need to play ALL our best pressing players to harass their defenders in position and force them into hoofing it. Surely Skrtel won't lose headers to Chichadorito ???

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
I agree Sep, except bin 4-3-3
Same players but go with a diamond
Their defense is pretty shit as well. We need to win the midfield battle in this match. Modric being injured also helps us. Kroos and Illaramendi don't strike fear into anyone.
We can kill them with intensity and it starts with starving the shit out of their midfielders.
Coutinho throughballs to Sterling being hapless Ramos and Marcelo

lol I think it's already too late for me. I've posted some pretty embarrassing stuff already.
I don't know what happened but all of a sudden I'm full of confidence going into this match. Really think we can win this.

Yeah i'm not one that likes to give up hope early, but Ronaldo vs our defense might get embarrassing.
Get ready for the united flops to come out in force after the game as well because they still be on ronaldo's dick.

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
These are the scenes that welcomed Real Madrid C.F. last time they visited Anfield in March, 2009. Here are some facts and stats for you to read about leading up to the game this Thursday morning.
* The last time the teams met in Europe was in 2008-09. In the Round of 16 the Reds went to the Bernabeu and won 1-0 with Yossi Benayoun scoring in the 82nd minute.
In the return Liverpool won 4-0 for a 5-0 aggregate victory. Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard (2 including a penalty) and substitute Andrea Dossena scored the goals.
It was Gerrard's 100th European appearance for Liverpool.
* Of the players who played in those ties only Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard and Lucas are still at Anfield while Iker Casillas, Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo remain with Real.
* The only other time the teams faced each other was in the 1981 European Cup Final in Paris with Alan Kennedy scoring the only goal.
* The Reds could record wins in their opening 2 home Champions League group games for only the second time in 10 attempts - the other season being 2006-07.
* Only Liverpool (3 matches) and Aberdeen (one game) have 100% records against Real Madrid.
* Of all the Englishmen to play in the Champions League Steven Gerrard is the highest scoring midfielder with 29 goals - a total which includes qualifying games.
* The Reds have lost just one of their last 18 home games in Europe - to Udinese in 2012 in the Europa League.
* Real Madrid are hoping to become the first team to retain the Champions League. The last to do so in the European Cup era was AC Milan in 1989 and 1990 when Carlo Ancelotti was a player.
* Their 4-0 defeat at Anfield in 2009 is their only loss in the last 5 visits to England.
* Real have not scored a goal against Liverpool in 270 minutes of European football.
* Liverpool are the last team to defeat Real in a European Cup Final. Since 1981 the Spaniards have won all 4 Finals.
* Carlo Ancelotti has managed a team against Liverpool 6 times in his career, with 3 and 3 defeats - winning 2 and losing 2 with Chelsea and winning and losing a Final with AC Milan against Liverpool.
* Ancelotti is only the second manager ever to lift the trophy 3 times, Bob Paisley being the first.
* Real come into this game on the back of 7 successive wins in league and cup since losing at home to Atletico Madrid in mid-September.
* The referee for this game is Italian Nicola Rizzoli. He refereed last summer's World Cup Final. He has taken charge of one Liverpool game previously - he oversaw the Reds 3-0 win over Lille at Anfield in the Europa League in March 2010. His only Champions League game this season saw a Spanish side lose - Barcelona suffering a 3-2 defeat at Paris St Germain.
Scorers this season: (Europe in brackets)
Liverpool: Sterling 3 (0), Gerrard 3 (1), Balotelli 1 (1), Coutinho 1 (0), Henderson 1 (0), Lallana 1 (0), Moreno 1 (0), Rossiter 1 (0), Sturridge 1 (0), Suso 1 (0), own goals 3 (0).

Let them come and rub it in, ffs we beat Real Madrid 4-0. It'll must be haunting them ever since. If they beat us by a fine margin, They are allowed to have the bragging rights.

I dont know if BR has ballz to play something like that, but nothing to lose I will go for that. I mean, we have tried Sterling in so many positions, why not as a striker for once. Not sure if Lallana can play that role, but I woul d still go with it.
Our intensity, pressing, running should suck their MF energy like leeches. They wont even realise what has hit them so hard if we play with pressing like we used to do under Rodgers. That group of players in above formation are hardworking and very technical also, we should win this, but may be not so easily

Re: Five Time European Champions vs Some Garbage Team from Madrid
I just hope for a good effort. It will be tough to get a result out of RM with the form they are on right now and Ronaldo has been scoring goals for fun.
I would like to see this. Coutinho needs starts, but Lallana is on form and puts in a ton of work. Coutinho can be our ace substitute later in the match to bring a spark to our offence. Sterling should be tried as a striker with Balotelli.
More likely we'll see:
Manquillo-Skrtel-Sakho-Moreno
Gerrard
Henderson-Allen
Lallana
Sterling-Balotelli
Gerrard
Henderson-Allen
Lallana
Sterling-Balotelli

Honestly if Rodgers goes with 4-3-3 again and balo as a lone striker i'll be seriously questioning his ability.

I doubt he'll surprise us. He cant even bench Gerrard(When their were no injuries) when we play 3 times a week, I dont know if that's a balls issue or no faith in the squad issue.

I don't want to see any pessimism from you lot. Let's go out there and expose Real Madrid for the midfieldless-defenceless-keeperless plugs they are. Balotelli with a hattrick to make up for all his missed chances up to this point.
