Re: Premier League - Chelsea vs Arsenal
Surprised? By Arsenal fans? Booing?
Where have you been the last few years?
Former player returns/faces them – booooooooooooooooooooo
Team struggles in the first half – boooooooooooooooooooooo
Team fails to win a game – boooooooooooooooooooooo
Wenger makes a substitution they don't like – booooooooooooooooooooo
Gust of wind blows overhead – boooooooooooooooooooooooooo
They've damn near got a patent on it.

Was also the first time a team kept them from having a single shot on target in a game since 2003

Though when things resume, we have 4 games in 3 competitions in the space of 10 days

Are you telling me games against Maribor and Shrewsbury aren't fantastic?

Re: Premier League - Chelsea vs Arsenal
Chelsea in complete control, say Neville and Souness:
Chelsea were in complete control against Arsenal on Sunday and showed they’re on a higher level to their London rivals, Sky's Gary Neville and Graeme Souness say

“Chelsea seemed to be in control of everything in the game. It was comfortable.”
“I didn’t think Arsenal played badly – I thought they started the game well, as Jose Mourinho said – but you never felt Chelsea were in danger of not winning.”
“You always felt Chelsea had a gear to go up to if they needed to, while John Obi Mikel came on in the second half and they seemed to get stronger and sterner.”
“The big moments were taken by Chelsea – Hazard got the penalty with a great run and then the combination between Cesc Fabregas and Costa in the second half was a fantastic goal.”
“They’re at a higher level than Arsenal.”
“You look at Chelsea today and they’re efficient. They’ve got the job done.”
“They’ve got great game management. They’ve got a few players out there who work out how the game is panning out, long before they get a message from the touchline or the dressing room at half-time.”
“They are very impressive as a team – with some stars in there. Watch the Chelsea players when they lost possession, how quickly they got back in position, how quickly they got goal-side.”
“It’s not just about doing clever things with the ball. When you’ve got great players and some very good players, all willing to put a shift in, it makes them a very dangerous animal.”

I get the feeling Mikel is going to be an important sub for us this season.

Here is a vine of Ivanovic getting punched by Sanchez.
Classy.

Re: Premier League - Chelsea vs Arsenal
I cringed when I saw him coming on especially as they were just starting to get a foothold late in the match and thought inviting pressure on was the last thing we needed to be doing. But it worked brilliantly.

Perhaps that banner is a sly dig at Ozil and Sanchez, since both were bought?

Re: Premier League - Chelsea vs Arsenal
That's the irony of their constant pontificating about money, class, and how the two are related. Their argument all this time has been:
spend big on players = no class
spend big on wages = no class
That the 2 most expensive players on the pitch yesterday were both Arsenal ones, and that they now have a higher wage bill than we do, makes their moralising about "class" hilariously ironic, especially when you consider the thuglike behaviour they showed yesterday despite sanctimoniously accusing everyone else of having none of it.

Usually these things (or at least inquiries into them) are announced on the Monday immediately after. Since there's been nothing, I doubt it.

Yeah but this seems to have only surfaced today.
If there is a big enough outcry, it might.
