For the record Messi didn't actually touch the keeper, I noticed on the replay Laughing

Yellow was fair I think, wasn't a red.

he hit the guys arm not his head lol and it wasn't a direct kick but messi's thigh hit his arms.

well, yeah, he just missed the head, that's why I said attempted murder and not murder. If that's no red card nothing is.

Let's just make the game so that every contested ball the keeper is near is automatically a foul if anyone other than the keeper gets it lmao Laughing

The keepers are protected enough as it is. The call was fair, it shouldn't have been a red and it's not "attempted murder", Messi is in his rights to try and get to that ball.

From the other angle you can see how Messi even straightens his leg and follows through after it's clear he won't reach the ball. Absolute brutal challenge, and red card. Shocking you would talk of "well within his right" in that context tbh.

Hans it looks like he only realized what he was doing when he was mid-flight. You can see he didn't even loko at the keeper until then. Everything looks intentional in slow motion.

hans your trying too hard..

attempt in murder is kicking the keeper with your studs directing him... messi "hit" the keeper with his thigh
there was more ill intention from neuer in the wc final then this replay.

Hans is just a bit sensitive because he ain't used to a fierce, close fought and competitive game watching Bayern steamroll Hoffenheim or something 15-0 week in week out. It's okay, Hans. Proud

Yes in the beginning, but why does he straighten the leg and even directs it sligthly more towards the goalie when he realizes he's getting to the ball?
Not trolling, seriously surprised noone else would see this as the dangerous challenge it looks to me.
That he didn't hit the head is certainly not down to Messi pulling out, but frankly luck on the goalie's part.

You realize he doesn't even see the keeper until contact would have been made HAD his leg hit the keeper?

What do you want him to do, stop time and go back a couple seconds and then reposition his leg? Like BC said, he was mid flight on his way before he even sees the keeper.

People need to stop being pussies and realize that these things are going to happen. Messi is well within his rights to go and try and get that ball, he doesn't know where the keeper is but he's trying to score so of course he's going to try and get to that ball. The keeper on the other hand is coming out and is well within his rights to try and get the ball as well.

Players can't always be looking around to see where the keeper is before they go for a ball that they should be allowed to go for. Therefore collisions will happen.

Get out of a contact sport if you have a problem with that happening.

Oh come on, are we going to bitch on Messi now? Usually people say he is to static, has no challenges, doesnt fight for the ball. Now the little man fights for the ball, goes into 1v1's and people start complaining. get a grip

At a certain point it doesn' matter whether it's intentional though.
Of course Messi isn't intending to rip Moya's head off.
But I would assume he's in 'intentional' control of his limbs, and the fact is he's jumping with a straight leg head-high into a ball the goalie reaches first hmm

What a weird talking point going on here x)

Like BC said, everything looks intentional in slow-motion. Just like, I believe it was Kahn who said it, that every shot looks saveable in slow-motion.

And so it continues, I like how the corrupt ref is two meters away and still gives that

Refereeing decisions of La Liga 14-15

Round 13
Suarez onside goal wrongfully disallowed. (at 0-0)
Spoiler:
Round 14
Cronaldo gets a penalty from a obvious dive (at 0-0)
Neymar doesn't get from much harder challenge (at 1-1).
Spoiler:
Round 15
Barcelona doesn't get penalty from a obvious handball (at 0-0)
Spoiler:
Round 17
Real Madrid gets penalty from close handball (at 0-0)
Barcelona doesn't get penalty from a much more obvious handball (at 1-0 behind)
Spoiler:
Round 18
Atletico Madrid gets penalty from a clear dive (at 2-0)
Barcelona doesn't get penalty from much harder challenge (at 2-1)
Spoiler:

Background for these decisions

Iturralde (retired Spanish ref) - "Most Spanish referees are Real Madrid fans"

Presidents of Real Madrid and RFEF, Florentino Perez and Angel Maria Villar are good friends, and since Perez were chosen Real Madrid president:

Penalties given in Champions League (09-15)
9 Messi
8 Cronaldo

Penalties given in La Liga (09-15)
47 Cronaldo
28 Messi

The disparity of penalties given is huge, and it cannot be explained by tactics, nor rules changes, because only other team is benefiting of them. So what is the logical explanation to this?

That's not how it works, harmonica.

You can't just completely ignore decisions that go your way, then point to decisions that go against you and call that corruption.

That's just not rational, and i have to say I'm a bit dissapointed that you of all people would draw conclusions in such an un-objective way.

How's that not rational? They are direct equivalents of ref directly effecting the game.

This is why Real Madrid have 8, Atletico 4 penalties this season, and Barcelona has 1.

If there's something worse than a bad referee, that's referees that compensate a mistake they made by committing another mistake that favours the originally penalized team. That's not even bad, that's pathetic.

TBF on Atletico this match was really a fluke. For the first time in ages Barca played at the camp nou as the underdog, so the pressure was all on Atleti and they just played a derby against Real and they played with Gimenez and Gamez since they were without Miranda and Ansaldi and the goals themselves were fluky.

I still think they're favourites for the CL after Bayern. Real will suffer from the CL holders syndrome, Barca still doesn't look stable to me and we have done nothing yet to be considered at the same level of Atleti and Bayern
