Messi, Iniesta, Suarez, Neymar. Best offensive quartet in modern football history for sure.
Just splash € 50M on Benatia and be done with the transfer window IMO.

Re: Luis Suárez : el Vampiro
Another Luis Suarez to Barcellona.
After 50 years. The last time was Balon d'or with this kit.
Then he went to Inter and winning 2 CL
DAT cyclic trend
Fantastic player , I remind he was close to Barcelona already before of Liverpool , his agent is Guardiola's brother, basically the Barcelona was in his destiny. On the other hand, with that name and surname..
Curious to see his partnership with Messi , it can be simply unreal
Is he going to miss always 9 matches of Liga ? Liga begins later than EPL

I have no idea how he is going fit in this team, in a functional way. Defensively anyway.

Messi, Neymar and Ineista get more then him. Neymar is at £120,000, so I'm assuming Suarez will be around £100,000 to £115,000. Unless things have changed, but i believe he'll be the 4th most paid player.

You're overthinking this IMO. In 9 out of 10 La Liga games Alves will effectively be a winger anyway:
Suarez
Neymar Messi Alves
Iniesta Rakitic
Busquets
Alba CB Pique
Mats
Either because teams will be parking the bus or because they'll be so poor that they won't be able to exploit Alves' positioning. I think we can agree that this is not an issue at all against the Granadas, Getafes and Almerias of this world.
Against better elite teams, which aren't that many (Clasicos, Atletico Madrid, CL quarter and semi final games) it can be normal 4-3-3 with Neymar-Messi-Suarez where Suarez attacks from the right wing like Eto'o did in 2009 when he turned Vidic inside out or even something completely different and 1 off.
I don't see why this is supposed to cause problems as if Sanchez was the holy grail of balance. Suarez is better than Sanchez in basically everything. He even works as hard off the ball.

Have the Spanish FA released the fixture for 2014-15!!! Since FIFA have upheld the ban on Suarez, how many games he is likely to miss?

Something else needs to be said. We finally got an elite forward in case Messi gets injured. No more Slowbregas false 9 experiments.
Neymar Suarez Pedro
I hope La Liga teams go on strike. Isn't there something to complain about this year?! TV money? INJUSTICIA!!!

He was on £200k per week after he signed a new contract last year.

Yeah, he took a paycut. Like Cesc, Mascherano and many others.

Re: Luis Suárez : el Vampiro
Well I can tell you one thing, for the first time ever I'll be rooting for y'all in the Clasico and the La Liga race.
I think you guys will be surprised at how effective he is.
PS. If Messi goes dictator mode on his ass and wants him out, I hope you guys think of us before loaning him out to Milan with a view of a permanent transfer at 25m in 25 installments over a 25 year period.

While I think the midfield trio of Iniesta, Rakitić and Busquets will be superior against PTB teams, I'm not sure how it would fare against better teams. My main issue would be against better pressing teams because Rako and Iniesta are not as good as Busquets or Xavi under pressure and that could mean a change of play style. There is hope Busquets' role evolves from being a liability in middle and final third to being one responsible for some of what Xavi used to do in midfield.[/quote]

If Xavi is indeed going you will need another CM tbh.

Irrelevant. If he is playing striker, the leftback is free. If he is playing rightwing, thats not a good fit for him.

Re: Luis Suárez : el Vampiro
Barca played Villa through the middle at times and he tracked back as a RW, I guess Suarez would have a similar role.
If Barca's pressing is similar to how it was under Pep, then Suarez not being at RW straight away when pressing shouldn't be a problem. The RB/RCM will be the first players who press the LB.

Forget Alexis, its not about his qualities. Alexis wasnt a striker, he didnt stay in goalscoring positions when Messi had the ball. So when it is turned over, he has a fighting chance of getting back into the play. How hard Suarez works will mean little if he has to come all the way from inside the box for example.
Also using the Man Utd game with Etoo is an anomaly, we had 50% of the ball (or less), we had Abidal and 2 CB's capable of effectively covering space with intelligence and we had a team where 11 players put in all the effort possible.
Lets instead talk about actual positioning and logic.
For Suarez to play as a 9, we all can agree he cant press the leftback when the ball is turned over. He isnt in the position to do so.
So Dani Alves (or whoever is rightback) will come forward and pressure the fullback. This starts the chain where the RCB (lets say Pique) goes over to wherever the winger is. If said winger stays against the touchline that is a gap of around 35m between the Pique and his partner. More or less depending on the movement of the striker.
Busquets will have move to cover the space in front so the direct ball to the striker isnt so easy, you cant have the best strikers in the world (we talking those big games here) in this much space 1 v 1 with a defender. You cant have any striker 1 v 1 in that much space realistically. Busquets covering that angle means he is no longer man marking the opponents 10, who himself will now have a incredible amounts of space lateral to Busquets left.
Rakitic and Iniesta are going to be occupied pressing their men, because obviously any pressing system requires the midfield to basically man mark.
Basically this is the best we can hope for everyone presses on point.
Use this11.com for tactics for football
I dont know about you, but this look worries me. Busquets has to be in 2 places at once. Either he protects the CB or he marks the 10. If the ball gets into the 10, Busquets wont recover, if Alba is even in position he has to come across, this leaves the RW in space.

MT please stop. Your talking like someone who never played football before. Do you realise how big the pitch is? Suarez is never making it from striker to leftback faster than the ball can move there.
