The most stupid suspension in WC history?
What was Thiago Silva thinking? Suspended against Germany in the semis.

Aren't yellow cards reset after the round of sixteen?

Yeah, that's what everyone is reporting. I just want an explanation.
Dante wouldn't be so bad but Felipao seems to have a hard on for Brasileirao Serie B legend Henrique.

Apparently it's reset after the quarterfinals so that players aren't suspended for the final.

Yes. But at the same time, you have to think what the hell was the ref doing.
Some of the tackles made today, in the 2nd half especially...which didnt get booked, but Silva in the way of a goalkick is a bookable offence?
Seems odd. But they going to miss him, he was phenomenal as usual today.

To be fair to the ref, delaying tactics have always been a bookable offence.

Of course, but some of the tackles we saw have always been bookable offences.
Not saying Thiago Silva shouldnt be booked, rather it doesnt seem fair he is suspended for such a relatively small thing when comparing to some of what we saw.
Even if Silva wasnt booked for that, he committed another foul later on where he deserved a yellow and got off without it.

Re: The most stupid suspension in WC history?
this yellow card kinda goes against the notion that ref was " pro brazil " imo.
i've seen refs let the same thing silva did slide countless times with only a verbal warning .
still a dumb yellow tho.
