Off topic but you are insane if you ever try to provoke a Camel like that. Those animals can seriously kill you if agitated (not joking).

I wouldn't try Zealous, as I'm a coward.
I have a big mouth from afar, but having to fight the camel I'd probably try to run and hide behind a dune.
Also I don't even know the camel, if I actually met it we might get along just fine.
Happens quite often that a first impression doesn't turn out to last.

Well, Mats Hummels already missed a match due to the flu and Christoph Kramer missed training, so I think it is well possible. It is just unknown as to how severe it is.

Unlucky, that's the big problem with flu obviously.

I'd normally assume they were playing games but Hummels missed a knockout match already so that's clearly not some game.

Well, fortunately it really seems to be only a cold-style flu as Mats Hummels seems to be fit again. At first I was worried it could be dengue fever which is endemic in the area where the NT is located and for which there are neither vaccinations nor meds and which starts with flu-like symptoms, too. (And currently there is a bigger dengue outbreak under way in Brazil.)

Oh, I just heard at SSNHD that the flu stuff seems to be negligible now. Jogi Lƶw said "everything is fine and he is deeply relaxed". (="tiefenentspannt") Laughing

Battiston was the left back lol If it were to happen again I guess Evra would be the more historically accurate candidate.

If Benzema does indeed score the winner against Germany then Algeria would have knocked out Germany after all Proud

Been supporting France since both my nations flunked out of this now boring World Cup. Basques overall feel a great sense of comraderie to them given their close proximity on the border; the Rugby teams of France being supported in particular by us.

I hope they go all the way to win it. Good luck to all the Frenchman on this board. Win or lose, it's been a fantastic tourney for you guys.

My moneys on France, finally seems to be a feeling of belief in the squad and although Germany have an embarrassing amount of talent through midfield they haven't looked as convincing as they should. 2-1.

Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany - Page 7 Empty Re: Quarter-Final: France Vs Germany

Post by donttreadonred Fri Jul 04, 2014 1:51 pm

I am seriously excited for this match.

Germany has underwhelmed after a promising start and their 4-0 drubbing of Portugal. Facing France is a serious test of this team's credentials. If they can come through this test, they will be legitimate contenders and a serious threat to the winner of Brazil/Columbia.

I believe one of the most interesting wrinkles in this match-up is how the defensive triangle of France:
Cabaye
Skaho-Varane

...matches up with Muller as a false9.Will Cabaye be disciplined enough to mark Muller? Will Sakho and Varane be drawn out of position by Muller's deeper position? Will Germany be capable of making the most of that space and France's marauding fullbacks? (I have to say, it's unlikely if they start two CAMs that like to drift inside...) Will Germany's 4-CB back-line be capable of dealing with such a dynamic front-3 as Griezmann-Benzema-Valbuena?

As you can see, while neither team is as exciting as watching Columbia, Brazil, or even the departed Chile, the match-up is fascinating. This is a fixture where the players, coaches and nations know each other well, and will be intimately familiar with the other's strengths and weaknesses. This is going to be a heated competition to be the last, great European hope in this world cup.
