Worryingly only Fellaini has been rumored to be leaving. Valencia, Young, Buttner etc. not a word, even Anderson is said to be coming back from loan. Woodward better not *bleep* this up

Seriously, don't worry.
LvG will be finished with the WC after the group stage , then a few days vacation, so he'll start working for you beginning of July.
The transfer window isn't open before anyway.
Then he'll assess the players, and probably beginning of August tell all players he doesn't need to their face they won't feature much in his plans and can leave.
THEN they can look for new clubs.
It's all good.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
we (the board that is) should have asked him from last december itself to watch our matches and get accustomed to the players.
These guys after all they were waiting for moyes's CL clause to be activated to sack him. So they should have well in advance contacted LvG. And moreover a single match viewing would have been enough I believe for him to understand the quality of these craps.. lol
ah well
all i can say is fingers crossed regarding their sales. Simply cant stand the sight of ashley young in the united jersey once more next season.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I'd like to revisit last summers Fabregas saga for a minute.
It is known that Moysie and Ed were bidding for him, because they proudly said so publicly.
Now we know about this first refusal clause that Arsenal had all along.
So... let's imagine... had Fabregas wanted out last summer, and Barca would've accepted Ed's 35-40m something bid, that would have made it possible for Arsenal to exercise this option and get Cesc back for a fixed amount of 33m.
LOL.
Ed and Moysie really were poor suckers, gluttons for punishment.
Like Don Qixote and Sancho Pansa.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
We made two bids, £25m and £30m, we considered making a third one but we never did. You're also assuming if Arsenal exercised their buy-back option Fabregas would have chosen them over us.

Ed Woodward and the rest of the board responsible for our transfers should call up Chelsea's board for advice on how to tie up deals.
Would do these clowns a world of good.

Already signed Cesc, Costa is pretty much done and Filipe Luis the deal they look furthest from securing is at the same stage where we are with our closest target Luke Shaw

Incredible ain't it?
The closest thing we have come to tieing up a deal is (what looks like) being given the run around by a mid table team and a youngster who could be holding us for 160k a week (allegedly) While at the same time we're still stuck with a bunch of deadwood. fck me...
Woodward better deliver this summer, if not I hope the club boot him out. Big pressure on him to sort this sh*t out.

Yeah, make or break for Woodward this summer, deliver or he needs to go too. Thanks for getting rid of Moyes, but his job constitutes of more than just that.

Chelsea's manager isn't busy at a world cup right now, I give United the benefit of the doubt right now....but soon as LVG is done with Holland I expect some quick business or else i'll be pissed

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Bastian Schweinsteiger expected to head Manchester United’s new arrivals
Btw, public link:
http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/football/article4117376.ece
We just like to go for the most impossible targets don't we
Article also says this, so I guess B-mac is right about signings being announced only when LvG is back

A deal with Southampton for Luke Shaw, the England left back, has been agreed in principle and is likely to be announced after the World Cup, with United eager to tie up other potential signings.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I think they've been briefed (although, in the Woodward era that doesn't necessarily mean anything will happen) it's in The Independent too. The Independent also says van Gaal and his coaches have doubts over Mata's physicality, sounds familiar doesn't it (I don't think we briefed that part though ).

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
tbh, the Schweinsteiger thing is the one transfer I could imagine.
That is, it would maybe make sense for us to sell him from a certain standpoint, which is the renewal of the team.
BUT I'm not so sure if Pep or the board feel like that too, also if he wants to move.
Because I think the rumours are merely a combination of this Graham Hunter claim about how Pep wants to get rid of Schweini which is very doubtful, and of the fact that van Gaal wants him and will try a bid for him, which is not very controversial or original.
Just as you made a bid a couple of weeks ago for Müller for about 40m which was rejected.
Nothing wrong with trying.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Yeah, Hunter said it couple of weeks ago, but The Times and The Independent specifically those journalists that have written both articles are reliable. I don't think Guardiola is the issue, it is more likely your board but unlike Muller, Schweinsteiger's peak years are unlikely to outlast Guardiola's reign that's what makes it a possibility imo. So if Guardiola doesn't see him in his plans I could see them (your board) siding with Pep on this one. I do think it is unlikely though. And with Kroos probably leaving next season, and Martinez playing as a CB, leaves your CM quite light if Schweinsteiger were to leave, no?
Btw, are you sure we bid £40 mil? I think it was in Kicker that Woodward asked Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, at the CL final, about the availability of Muller and he said no chance. Would be weird to make a bid after that. But it is Woodward ...

Spot on.
Plus I'm not so sure if Pep really wants to offload Schweini, at least he showed no signs of dropping him so far.
It's complicated.
German sources which seemed to come out of our club said there was a bid higher than the current Transfermarkt market value for Müller, which is 40m €, 2-3 weeks ago, fwiw.
But selling Müller was never going to happen anyway, just as Müller did not want to leave anyway.
But it's not surprising LvG tried.
With Schweini I'm curious, because part of me would kind of like it to happen, problem is Schweini deserves to play CL so that you aren't in it is a problem.

Meh, lack of CL will be compensated by winning the PL next season

Lets go for Blind if Shaw messes with us again. No need of that prick if you ask me.
I am itching to watch more of this youngster now in the tournament.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
yea true that.
The best thing regarding the Dutch going as far as they can, we probably wont be needed to look no where else regarding at least 2 signings in much needed positions, one being Blind and the other being BMI.
The Job certainly will be lot easier I reckon.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen agrees deal to join Manchester United this summer
Exclusive: Defender's departure to fierce rivals Manchester United would be another blow for Arsenal after losing Bacary Sagna to Manchester City
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/10902101/Arsenal-captain-Thomas-Vermaelen-agrees-deal-to-join-Manchester-United-this-summer.html
Had a great first season at Arsenal, but afterwards wasn't that great probably due to injuries but that doesn't make it better since our whole defence is so injury prone. If he is what van Gaal wants I'm willing to give him a chance since the talent is there, just hasn't performed for what ever reason.
Not only in the Telegraph, btw, I've seen a Sky Sports journalist say it too, and Michael Vaughan (yes, the cricketer ) he was the first.
