the 3 year contract that he wishes, with the same pay as he wishes...with the condition we insert a very low buy out clause, or no buy out clause at all (not sure if these are required in Spain)
After one season, after we go and buy Danilo or whoever and the transfer ban is lifted I would put him on the market and let him go for whatever is offered to get him off the books. He's been a GREAT talisman to the club for all he's done, but I don't like being black mailed by anybody in a time of need and that's what he is doing. So if he doesn't want to be reasonable, that would be the compromise I would offer hm.
Danilo now? Why didn't you go after for him during the last summer window in stead of Douglas? It's not like that Danilo was an unknown quality.
Ever heard of Andoni Zubizarreta?

Former player Oscar Garcia and Rayo coach Paco Jemez are candidates to become Barcelona coach if Jordi Farre wins the elections. [sport]

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Hey guys I found the perfect Alves replacement. I've never seen him play but Héctor Bellerin meets all the requirements to be signed by us. He plays for Arsenal, he is a la masia youth product and he is Catalán. The only potential problem is that he is a right back by trade, it would be better if he were a midfielder, but I dont think Arsenal would sell Santi.
Anyways what do you guys think? This guy's has Barça DNA all over him, I'd rather spend 8m now than 20 in 5 years.

I saw him first ffs.
Keep your dirty corrupt hands off him.
Also I hope his agent is still a certain P. Guardiola.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Coutinho you beauty
We should make every effort to sign him once the ban ends. The perfect Iniesta replacement. Not as magical a dribbler(but then not even Messi is),but he is more inventive than Iniesta imo. Just a bag of trickery and inventiveness. He is rumored to have a low release clause after resigning.
But then knowing us,will probably end up signing Jack the Lionheart Wilshire from Arsenal

You joke, but we should sign Bellerin lol
Maybe not now, its just not us..we have to wait a bit for his profile (and price) to rise, but it should and probably will happen.
He is a good player.

That's true. You have to wait a bit, for other reasons as well
I hope we beat you to it though, that kid is my new favourite PL player. Think he's going to be great.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
I've always liked Coutinho since I saw him play with Espanyol...I just don't see the point of getting him though. That's an area we frankly don't need to reinforce. When the transfer ban ends, we would have an older but probably still productive Iniesta, and Rakitic playing in the position he would play for us. Then you have Rafinha who lately has looked like he is steadily improving game after game...and you have Halolivic who is getting promoted at the end of this season. We also have the right to recall Suarez from his 2 year loan spell at Sevilla, who's been performing great for them and will be even better by the time the transfer ban ends. So getting another creative mid is really not something I think we should spend huge on anytime soon (he won't be cheap). If anything we need a true holding/creative mid....the Xavi replacement we should of had in Thiago. Then again maybe Samper can turn into that who knows

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
just rumors but we are heavily interested in pogba or verrati to reinforce our midfield.
relying on our youth is a very risky scenario and none of these kids have the skills to replace xavi/iniesta
Rakitic was somewhat our xavi replacement (in terms of the starting lineup)
but in 2016 we'll be needing a iniesta replacement, and it probably wont be any of our youth players as i highly doubt they'll drastically increase within the timespan of a year a half to be a starter for a team like barcelona.
samper will probably be bench for buscuit, as mascherano will probably leave by 2016..
rafinha might be sold if he doesn't improve
Halolivic is still a kid whose not proven.. might be loaned and compete with rafinha to see who gets sold.
suarez is having enough trouble starting for sevilla can't see him having a future with us.
but regardless those rumors sound unreasonable, we are not that dumb to splash out 100m+ for pogba or whatever his agent says.. and i doubt PSG will ever let verrati go without a fight.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
and who knows really who were going for..
our style of play has changed drastically in terms of the jobs our midfielders have with LE
iniesta role is less important and we would probably benefit more from a high work rate less flashy player.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
I'm not willing to say Iniesta is done yet. Let' see what kind of manager we get next season and how he uses him. Then we'll know whether Iniesta has really declined or whether LE is scrubrique.
In the mean time we can use youth products to provide rotation in that position.

Ideally we would want the cantera kids to turn into world beaters and replace Xavi and Iniesta. But that doesnt always happen.Samper and halilovic look like good prospects and they may turn out to be good enough.but the step up to the first team is a gigantic one and very very few can make it.Deulofeu looked like he belonged with us but now it looks very unlikely.Same with JDS,Bojan etc etc.
At present the probability of Samper or Halilovic making it with us is around 20%.Countinho is almost a sure bet.
I am not suggesting that Samper and Halilovic not be given chances.Ofcourse they should. But the facts are that Xavi is gone soon and Iniesta is also getting old. That leaves us with Rakitic and Busquets as starting material.I really dpont think Rafinha is good enough to start for us.He is good as a 4th or 5th choice but not starting material. So that leaves us with 2 WC options for 3 spots. Not good numbers.Ideally we would want 4 WC options for the 3 spots plus a couple of guys who can fill in.
That is the reason why I feel we desperately need to reinforce in CM.We need one midfield controller like Xavi.I would look at the likes of Veratti and Thiago(Bayern may not be as keen on him with all the injury problems).
We also need a creative CM who has plenty of skill and inventiveness and there is no young midfielder better than Coutinho at that.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Why are we talking transfers?
Isn’t the ban still in place?
Furthermore the type of midfielders we require is unclear currently.
We may get the new Xavi and fail to utilize him properly under our new (?) philosophy

we can buy in the summer just not register them, so the plan seems to loan the player to the original club until january and hopefully he doesn't sign with the champions league team roster so we can put him in ours.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
This is impossible. You can't loan a player to another club without registering him at your club first. If we buy any player in the summer, he will be stuck at Barca and not be able to play until January.Donuts wrote:billy_gr wrote:Why are we talking transfers?

meh we can buy them but they cannot play till january
some many different people saying we will probably do the same as the MatS transfer where we buy them early but not officially.. just the good word of the clubs etc.

Would like for us to buy Veratti tbh. Would take a fortune but I would like to see it happen if possible. I don't watch him enough to say such a strong statement yet but the guy looks to me like he has the talent to be the next Xavi for us.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were part of a swap with Juve. PSG get Pogba and Juve get Verratti. It almost makes too much sense, assuming Pogba is willing to not play for a top league.

Apparently this kid is tearing it up and sounds like a cule at heart. Rumors are Pedro is wanting out, which could open room for a solid 3rd option (that all depends if he is willing to be that until Suarez gets older, will be 29 when the ban ends)
Doubt there is anything to that story, just posting to keep conversation going on in here

You know whats funny, wasn't that long ago that people would bitch and complain (everyone except Barc fans) that we had WAY too many midfielders. We had prime Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, also Cesc and Thiago. We also had Afellay and Mascherano would could play the midfield, and even had Keita for one full season with the rest of the guys I just mentioned.
Now we have an old Xavi, and running on tired legs Iniesta. We have Rakitic who's probably our best midfielder now, with Busquets and Mascherano taking turns as our pivot. Then you got the kids who aren't "there" yet, in Rafinha and Sergi. Our midfield could use some one extra...funny who would of ever thought this just 2 or so years ago. How quickly things change. But we will deff need to nab a midfielder as soon as the ban ends. Withought a question
Xavi will likely be gone or retired by then.
Iniesta will be 31 heading towards 32.
Rakitic will be in his prime
Busquets will be in his prime
Rafinha hopefully by this point reach his full potential, hard to tell if thats much better than his current game
Sergi is simply not good enough for us.
Halolivic, Samper hard to tell what level they will be at, doubt it will be top tier by this point and ready to start
That is not a very good midfield, so we will deff have to get at least one top player to compliment Rakitic and Busquets when the ban ends.
