Spurs need to invest heavily in the center of the park next season ffs. Outside backs could be improved too.

Not really. Brazzo wanted to convince the board of Poch, while Rummenigge wanted Tuchel and Hoeneß was sabotaging both of them.
It was reported Brazzo sounded out Poch, but I don't think he was ever a consensus pick and therefore there wasn't much to turn down either.

Tuchel was the right coach to hire last summer. I'll take Pochettino now though, thanks.

Very handsome man.
Flawless demeanor and appearance.
What Conte said about Morata surely applies to Pochettino as well.

Also, Ronaldinho and Jay Jay Okocha in one team ffs

He is nothing special, a random La Liga coach who was NEVER even half as hyped in La Liga and had Espanyol in the relegation zone before getting sacked.

Mediocre La Liga coach = Rinus Michels of Mule League.

What's so special about 70 something points with Spurs and 20 points behind Liverpool? He is exactly where you would expect Spurs to be based on quality of the squad.

This post is going to look incredibly silly when Poch goes to Bayern, PSG, or Juve and rattles off league titles in his sleep.

What is so special? The guy has had virtually no money to reinforce his squad over the years and he consistently gets the best out of the players at his disposal. Kane, Son, Dele - these guys weren't the massive names until Poch got the best out of them. Then there are names like Sissoko, Llorente, Dier and to a lesser extent names like Winks, Walker-Peters and Trippier, who are essentially pub players at this top level yet Poch is forced to play them and they aren't complete garbage.

The fact that a team paper-thin team like Tottenham can make it this far into CL and the top 4 race is a miracle that is due almost entirely to Poch.

but are spurs really any better than chelsea arsenal and manure. all 3 of them teams have massive problems and need to replace half the squad. poch has had this team for a few years so imo they should of left chelsea arsenal and manure behind this season. im not saying poch is rubbish but are spurs improving. i think they have regressed tbh.

Not to mention finishing second, third the past couple years in the EPL

Poch doesn't have to prove anything. Before Poch, Tottenham were lucky to squeeze into fourth. If they did anything at all in the CL, it was overachieving. Most years they didn't even make CL.

Now Spurs are expected to compete and have made top 4 how many years in a row? They've been the best team in London over the past three years, while working with less money than anyone else in the top 6. They've made the RO16 in the CL and went toe to toe against Juventus, then followed it up by getting to the semis, beating City on the way.

He's done it with a thin squad. Fking Sissoko-Winks is his starting midfield duo. He's missed Kane for large parts of the season, as well as Dele and Son for decent chunks as well.

He's completely changed the way people look at Spurs

Some credit Poch like he just arrived to Tottenham and should have no expectations placed upon him.

He lost the league to Leicester and ended below old and finished Wenger. He lost to Chelsea another season, finished below Mounited another one as well.

There is a lot for him to prove before being rated as one of the best managers. Needs to take a step forward.

They should have left Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man U behind but since Poch took over Spurs' netspend has been an absolute joke. The spending habits between Spurs and the other top 4 contenders is not even close. Then you look more closely at the players they have spent on: the two players they have spent the most on since Poch took over are Sissoko (32m) and Davinson Sanchez (36m)

Well that wasn't the question now was it Wink

Part of the reason why you have to rate guys like Klopp and Poch.

All the more reason why Spurs will not be title contenders until they spend. It's no coincidence that Liverpool pushed on this season after a recent negative netspend between Alisson, Keita, Fabinho, Salah, Ox and VvD

Also did the math:

Over their tenures netspend for both at Spurs and Liverpool respectively, Poch has spent ~ 36m and Klopp has spent ~ 146

Spurs under Poch is finishing with 70 something points all the time. It's exactly what you would expect from a team with the best striker in the league upfront and Arsenal, United and Chelsea all in their worst states in decades.

Ffs, United with 1 game in hand are only 6 points behind and they are in total crisis mode since the beginning with a midseason coach sacking. What's so special here?

Liverpool 2 games away from 97 points, now that is special.

It doesn't matter if you have Harry Kane as striker if you are relying on a midfield with Winks and Sissoko in it, you aren't going to win the league. Sorry. Those are absurd expectations.

Barcelona have the best player in the world. Why haven't they won the CL every single year? Same stupid logic.

Who said that Spurs should be winning the league? I specifically said they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I didn't they say the should be winning the league.

70 something points is what you would expect from Spurs, Pochettino isn't exactly overachieving. Their cemented top 4 status comes from the weaknesses of United, Arsenal and Chelsea, not Pochettino's genius.

Plus the midfield isn't that important in the Premier League. Liverpool's midfield is Henderson and Wingardium Leviosa and they are walking the league together with City.

Then what do you want them to do? They spent a total of 0 pounds the past 2 windows while the competing teams around them reinforced their squads with 100s of millions of pounds.

City: 77m, Arsenal: 93m, Liverpool: 164m, Chelsea: 210m

You can't compete in this league unless you spend as evidenced by City's huge spending in prior years and recently Liverpool's spending to bridge the gap. Spurs are a paper-thin team that drastically needed reinforcement but didn't get it. The fact that they are currently in 3rd, and in the semifinals of the CL has to be due largely to Poch. For you to say he is "mediocre" is absolutely absurd and shows you don't watch him.

If they lose Poch and continue this lack of spending policy, watch them freefall. You can @me.
