Re: Luis Enrique
Depends on which I guess. CL would be open to a second season, league maybe, cup not enough considering the bad style of play.

Sure results wise he has done well. But the style of play has been an eyesore most of the time. And for that alone,I want him gone.

Re: Luis Enrique
The season isn't over yet but I think even if we only win 1 trophy I would find it difficult to fire him, especially when you consider who could possibly replace him. As for the style of play, no it's not Pep-esque but I think some Barca fans exaggerate with how much of an eye sore it is. Also, weren't most fans pretty complacent earlier in the season and said that winning only the CDR would be more than enough?

I don't recall anyone saying the cup would be enough, but my memory is not what it used to be

I disagree that the style has been an eyesore, we are playing better than under Tata.

Re: Luis Enrique
The style has not been what we come to like during Pep era, but it is not an eyesore. Could be improved when we get e better midfield, for now I think Enrique is kind of milking the best he can out of it!

Re: Luis Enrique
Of course were going to be playing better then Tata, we have better players from his side and Neymar has come a long way also and Messi isn't injured.
Add MaTS/Bravo, Matheiu added
Neymar 2014/2015 > Neymar 2013/2014
Messi 2014/2015 > Messi 2013/2014
Rakitic > Fabregas
Suarez > Sanchez

I know we all like to joke about Coachessi but he has kept us in the 3 tournaments, first in la liga, in the cup final, and Semis in the CL. Of we win just 2 of these titles that's a successful season as far as I'm concerned.
I think we play some boring football quite often, so for that I want a change. But I also am willing to give him a second season to change it.
I think I said I was willing to give even Tata a second chance, so Enrique surely can get another chance.

Re: Luis Enrique
for me it was ok if we win nothing but play good footy. The play good footy part is not consistent, so if we manage to grab one of the trophies i am all for continuity. I mean, who would replace him if he is gone?

Re: Luis Enrique
we are playing boring in more than 90% times. i liked the mix of counter plus possession but skipping the mid pretty much always really is not entertaining me... i know he wants trophy, i also want trophy after recent failures. So after getting trophy i would not mind him leaving ...i might loose interest to watch us if this continues another season.may be it is due to lack of suitable players though but we cant buy next season so he probably will continue this way

Barcelona's midfield is poor and that isn't enriques fault. if the players can't do the job its not on the manager

Re: Luis Enrique
I think his biggest credit is in doing what many of us thought was not possible, moving Messi away from the center. The signing of Suarez has been perhaps the biggest difference maker. We finally have a center forward who has a presence in the box and can bring others into play. That he is an immensely talented maverick who can also work so hard for the team is invaluable. Beyond that Luis Enrique has structured the whole team so as to allow Messi to dictate everything and let the forward line combine and function as well as they can possibly do.
Now no one loved the midfield of Pep Guardiola more than I did. So do I miss the previous style of play? Hell yes I do. However considering that Barca was so heavily based on a brilliant midfield, who would have even thought that the team could be converted to a team almost without a midfield and still be able to get top results. For that I must give the coach credit. He's radical and has been able to do things that maybe no one on this forum suggested, at least not exactly.
Would I want this style to continue for long? Not really. Then again with Xavi and Iniesta moving out it may never again be my team in quite the same way. So I am not very strongly opinionated or passionate on this subject as of now.

Re: Luis Enrique
I said this at the time you bought Suarez but i don't think this front 3 could coexist quite as well with Guardiola's midfield. The build up would be too slow and wouldn't get the most of the direct pace and space that Suarez and Neymar excel in.
Thought at the time you needed to go in a different route, something similar to Rijkaard when you had a front 3 but a solid midfield behind him and Deco.
The pieces to the puzzle are not complete yet as the midfield for this team is still very imcomplete ( which would be my concern as it attains to CL success) but the ideology is correct IMO.

Thank you, sir. Finally more flexibility. Will probably never reach the beauty of the peak Pep days but I gladly take this.

I completely agree. Besides what you said I feel that a prime Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Suarez and Neymar in one team would amount to 'Too many cooks spoil the broth'. As Pep began to make Messi more and more key to everything the team did I remember I expressed concern over how Xavi and Iniesta were being undervalued. If this had happened with Messi playing the way he plays now and at his current level and with Neymar and Suarez by his side, the situation would have been much worse I feel.
Re: Luis Enrique
That'd be ridiculous but Laporta is the favourite to win Barca's presidential elections held this summer and the ridiculous part is that ... he doesn't really sympathizes with Lucho Enrique and the Asturian coach might part ways with the club despite possibly having won trophies. I hope this isn't the case.

Lucho isn't very popular among Cules (as coach) either tbf. Wouldn't be surprised if Laporta pulls a Perez on him.

Re: Luis Enrique
If the treble is achieved Laporta won't win IMO. The socis are conservative. Mood swings very quickly in football. Zubi will be the scapegoat and that's it. Even during the shitstorm in winter Bartomeu had some 20 % votes or something like that and was only behind Laporta with 40 something % according to polls.
