It was a good game for Milan , a game we really and trully needed . Fiorentina missing both Rossi and Gomez helped a lot too , but despite that , we played fairly well against them and on their own ground. Seedorf reacted well throughout the game and in general lines , it was a pleasant game for us. I must admit however , that i didn't see the Fiorentina i expected , but hey , all the better for us..

Some things i didn't like on our side , such as how frequently Kaka spends his time pressing and pushing opponents for the ball. You may think , you don't like that. Well , it's of course pleasant and satisfying to see Kaka try harder and harder after each and every game , sets the example . But that takes it's toll in his overall performance during the games .

His fitness has improved significantly , let's say since his first goal of the season. Yet i am afraid Kaka needs more help and support in order to provide for the team on a greater scale. I am somewhat worried about Kaka , tbh.

I'm satisfied by his efforts and even more so by the mentality he shows in each game. That's great and it does help us , i don't want him to stop this by any means. Ok. But i see him moving into spaces by pushing and pressing too often and that leaves him tired for brief moments during the games ; sometimes , after pressing , he's too far away from receiving a pass that could potentially begin a good chance , or for Kaka to be the last link to a good chance.

Against Fiorentina , they all pressed fairly well for our standards , even Balotelli. Taarabt , nahh , not so much. Taarabt needs Seedorf's help with when to use his dribbling. He's spamming dribbles here and there , where some simple things would work a lot better and what's interesting and worrying at the same time , is that he asks for the ball under very closely marked situations . He may be surrounded by opponents yet he still wants the ball there. Idk what to say , but he didn't have balance in his plays against Fiorentina . Honda i was most impressed by all ; excellent 2nd half and he didn't have a good 1st half. Run a lot , passed a lot , pressed a lot , did everything tbh , had steals and interceptions , e.t.c . Very good.

As for Kaka and may i say this for many players , they have yet to trully bond on the field . I see players such as Muntari , Constant and even Taarabt , not understanding Kaka's thinking and ideas during the game. A lot of you criticize Kaka and tbh up to a certain extent it's not unjustified. But i see Kaka being dissapointed that his teammates do not fully get him on the field , at least for the time being that is.

There was that moment in the 2nd half , where we were organised at the back and waited for Fiorentina , but it didn't look like threatening right then. Kaka and Muntari were in the same area near our box(centre-left) and the opponent with the ball was near them , so they had the responsibility to close down the space and halt a potential threatening move or pass . Kaka being tired from his non-stop movement and pressing , sees Muntari next to him and doesn't go to disrupt the opponent who had the ball(can't remember who it was right now) . Afterall , it was indeed Muntari's responsibility , before anything else.

Muntari did not get it and i suppose he thought Kaka would do that as well ; and the dude with the ball saw the clear oppening and just moved forward quickly and made a ridiculously easy pass to Matri inside the box , in a position that if Gomez or Rossi had been there , it would had most likely resulted in a goal. Thank goodness it was Matri. So many similar situations , in a lot of recent games . Kaka is playing really smart during games and also gives a lot of effort , even in things he's not great or never was. Yet most of the team isn't on par with his class and way of thinking.

We have to remember , that this is not the Milan Kaka played in. It's a new Milan for him and many cannot follow him with his plays. It's not a coincedence Kaka always thrived playing with intelligent players , whatever their style or position were. I didn't say all that to ease the pressure on Kaka , because lately he's been hot and cold and it's not just about others.

But especially last night , i saw Kaka having such good movement and finding space with timing , only for his teammates to choose the safest pass away from him or simply not even conceder him into the play. I can only imagine his frustration.. Especially Honda in the first half , didn't even look at Kaka's positioning or movement , especially after his badly mistimed shot , rarely looked to Kaka untill the 2nd half . Muntari , just lol , never actually did anything with Kaka . We cannot possibly have that going on into our game , Kaka needs his teammates to be on par with his ideas and generally follow his lead when he does stuff.

Anyway , it was a good game for us , even though it won't get over my head. I know Fiorentina didn't show up and nothing is solved or improved drastically for us. We showed positive signs though and i hope Milan continues to show progress. I would also like to see this at some point

I'd like to see what this set up could do , even though i am aware of the dangers and the obvious flaws. I would like to see Kaka surrounded by players who like to work together , such as Poli and Montolivo. Kaka needs help behind him , not just cover ; he needs to be able to play passes and keep possesion with his midfielders too. Because keeping possesion for a few seconds between the 3 , it could open up all sorts of routes for the wingers or simply for the team to regroup . Kaka doesn't work well with Muntari and De Jong , even though De Jong rarely , if not at all, hinders Kaka. Despite this , De Jong more often than not will look first to avoid any mistakes if the ball reaches him rather than get involved into the play further up front ; but that's his role and we cannot fault him for that. Still , Kaka is left stunned by such simple things , simple things that he can use to our advantage . When Kaka drops deep seeking for the ball , he doesn't do that because Muntari-De Jong cannot spread the play ; he does it , because with proper passing & movement between the midfielders near the midfield , it will create a threat , a threat that it will be a distraction to the oppoent ; it's supposed to drag opponents there and open other lanes for Balo , Honda or Taarabt for a potential attack .

Yet most of the times last night we were fkn around , especially in the 1st half , perhaps too afraid of losing the ball . And Kaka only wasted energy and frequently lost his position , only for Muntari and De Jong to play backpasses to avoid any mistake or they simply didn't follow his lead. Kaka often takes the initiative but his teammates won't follow , for many reasons. Then he's left tired from all the effort and it often makes his performance look bad , even worse than that sometimes. You have to watch it for yourselves ; whenever his teammates work with him and follow his lead , Kaka thrives. And he always looks to work with his teammates and for his teammates. It's players below his class that cannot understand him or be on par with his game , that it makes him look bad in the end.

In general lines , i'd like to see our players give more emphasis on Kaka. He can make the difference at any moment and almost in any place. But he needs quality next to him and most important of all , he needs this team to fully understand his ideas during the game. We can benefit so much from this , because i can clearly see players such as Taarabt and Honda , Constant and Muntari , have no idea how to work with Kaka. Thankfully Poli and Montolivo do much better with Kaka and get him , even if Montolivo sometimes steps in Kaka's area or vice versa. But that can still be a good thing , against certain oppositions who like to 2 or 3 man mark. Such movement could free paths for others to exploit or simply retain possesion in a safer way.

Poor Honda lol, he runs around like a scared child, but he did some good moves against Viola, and for that I dont care how silly and missplaced he looks at times.

Honda had a superb 2nd half , really great stuff. I was pleasantly surprised , because his first half was quite bad tbh. Nothing seemed to work for him , but he showed his true self in the 2nd , he didn't spare anything to anyone and was a constant threat , a pain in the butt for Fiorentina. I hope we can see more of his 2nd half self , he was simply great help for the entire team.
