Arsene Wenger has promised he will “soon” sign a new Arsenal deal, as he revealed he is already planning his summer transfer strategy.

The Frenchman, who is out of contract in the summer, has yet to put to paper on a new three-year deal which will take him past 20 years at the North London club.

“My commitment is full,” stated the 64-year-old, who will chalk up an extraordinary 1,000 games in charge of the Gunners when they meet Chelsea on Saturday. “I do not want to look somewhere else. I want to stay here. There shouldn’t be any uncertainty at all.

“My desire is to stay. It will be done soon, but I want now to focus on the end of the season.”
