Could see either team advancing... Hopefully Atletico goes through.

Good to know that we would've gotten Barca if we advanced to the QF's

Barca will win this, i'm 100% confident of that.
For all the Atleti hype they have never won against Barca under Simeone.
Not so confident about the other ties though

agreed with mole, atletico are a team that barca are comfortable in beating. I dont see how they wont get through this draw. Messi will rape Courtois again, as usual
I am only glad they meet because it increases the chances of them dropping points in la liga

Atleti don't actually have to beat Barca to advance though, that's the beauty of this competition lol. Also this season Atleti have not beaten Barca that is true but Barca haven't beaten Atleti either...
Having said that Barca will win this comfortably. CL is their playground especially when referees are appointed by UEFA.

Not away Zeal but they have at Home.... i'll leave the stats to Khaled lol but i'm pretty damn sure they have won their last 4 against Atleti at Camp Nou.
In the league that is, in any case your right they don't need to win

Not a tie that either team will enjoy but Barcelona have shown their ability to continually rise to the occasion to get the job done in big games this year. If Atletico do knick it then I could only see it being on away goals. They're a great side no doubt but Messi's simply the greatest difference maker one can possess and it counts time and time again when it matters.

Atleti can win at the Calderon. Not out of the realm of possibility.

Out of respect for Atletico I can't rule that out. As has been said, these are some of the most competitive quarter-finals we've seen in a long time, however the balance of probabilities suggests that Atletico aren't likely to suddenly find that little bit extra to beat Barca where they've been unable to this season. Even Pique has managed to concentrate when they've played recently.

Granted, yet it was Barca who triumphed in the Super-Cup, albeit on away goals, and when push comes to shove, having players such as Messi and Neymar is what wins you tight matches in the latter stages of the Champions League. Lionel is displaying his best form at the right time of the season and that is enough for me to give Barca the edge.

Very fair points and you're probably right. However any team that is hard to beat has a chance in a cup competition, even a two legged one.
We'll see how it goes.

2nd leg at Calderon. Time for Simeone to well and truly park it at Camp Nou and then it's game on

absolutely gutted, wanted both team to progress further than quarter finals
its going to be a really close 2 leg game imo. This isnt the same Atletico that just bends over for RM and Barca.

David Villa to score the goal that kicks Barca out of the Champions League.

I'm actually with you on this one. Really wanted Atletico to play one of the English sides but such is the "luck" of the draw.
May not watch this one though. Seems a bit boring but I am sure that they'll be high levels of diving and rolling around.
And some really good football in between.

Re: FC Barcelona 1 - 1 Atletico Madrid
The pattern for this game will be similar to how it has been when they have played earlier in the season. Atletico will defend as a unit as usual and stop Barca from creating clear chances and will look to hit them on the break. One thing that will be interesting is whether Barca have learned to counter this and if they have, then they a better chance of winning.

Re: FC Barcelona 1 - 1 Atletico Madrid
Everybody underestimating Atleti
Atleti know they don't have a squad for the league so they will rest everyone for the CL. If Atleti manage to play like they did in their recent game, Barca can go on for another ten games and still not score
predicting either team to go through on away goals
