Why not? not allowing the younger talent to go over clean is exactly why there's such a disparity between main event talent and the rest of the roster.

Because he's not good enough yet. For all we know Bray could be dancing with Brodus Clay in 6 months. Cena should only be beaten clean by people who are almost elite.

With attitude like that he'll never be good enough.
You don't know until you give him a chance.
With attitude like this Jericho would have never beaten Rock and Austin in the same night and so on.

Punk/Bryan were good enough to pretty much beat Cena clean and they had to go through a lot and were over.
Bray's only been around 8-9 months and his promos don't really connect with the crowd yet.

Do the Undertaker's promos connect with the audience? not really. they just buy into him being a spooky, almost folkloric character, that's what I could see Bray being like. He's interesting and should be pushed. He has more to offer than Bryan in the future IMO. Invest in that.
Also you said Punk and Bryan are good friends right? IMO they should continue to punish and marginalize Punk's circle, bury Bryan at Mania IMO

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
Undertaker was created at a time where over the top gimmicks worked.
It's the reality era now so it's harder for it to work. Bray's good at promos, but he's one dimensional. He's always preaching the same sort of message.
What he needs to do is walk to the ring, exchange words 1v1 with whoever he's feuding with without the riddles. Not saying he should get rid of the riddles, just tone them down.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
How do you know he's one dimensional lol? its all he does there's nothing to suggest he couldn't expand upon it.
Also he doesn't need to walk to the ring lol.... because he's different doesn't mean he needs to do generic things to fit in lol.
Also over the top gimmick can work, its just there's less skilled people around.
Undertaker could use a time machine and start from the very beginning and i guarantee you he would still have the same success.
Has nothing to do with difference in era's its just there's nowhere near as many skilled guys who can hold a crowd anymore.
And again there never will be if you don't give these guys a chance to prove themselves, if Vince and the creative team between 1990-2005 had this attitude some of the best of all time would have never existed.
There's some really talented guys around they just need to be given a chance, but that's been the case for a long time now.
Fans and Corporates alike are too scared of failure.
Hell Cena beat Angle on his debut lol, where would he be if no one gave him a chance?
Give people a chance to expand their skills and character and you will have a much better product.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
Actually Cena did not beat Angle on his debut. He gave him a good fight then Angle won with a roll up.
As long as Bray looks strong and does not tap out to the STF after 5 seconds he should be fine. Cena needs to make him look strong and not destory him like he destroyed Barrett, Miz, The Nexus etc.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
I didn't say he shouldn't be given a chance, just said he's not ready to beat Cena clean.
Also how would he ever participate in a main storyline when he doesn't respond directly to someone while standing in the ring? Just wouldn't work nowadays. The promos in main storylines nowadays use a lot of real worked shoot type stuff. Bray would be rambling on with riddles, which wouldn't fit in. Most people would get confused and arenas would erupt with Husky Harris chants.
The way to expand his character would be for him to respond directly to whoever he's feuding with, while occasionally saying his riddles. Instead of him fitting around the gimmick, the gimmick would fit around him.

WWE posted the following in regards to Christian not competing on tonight's live WWE Main Event episode for Big E's Intercontinental Title:
"WWE.com has received word from backstage at TD Garden in Boston that Christian will not be competing tonight against Intercontinental Champion Big E.
Last night on Raw, Christian won an opportunity to challenge for the powerful champion's illustrious title in a fast-paced Fatal 4-Way Match. However, with the two-time World Heavyweight Champion not lacing up his boots, questions are already beginning to arise as to what will happen next.
Tune in to WWE Main Event, LIVE tonight at 8:00 ET exclusively on WWE Network to learn more about this developing story surrounding the Intercontinental Title picture."

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
WWE is moving around some of their pay per views this. Money in the Bank, which had been in July, will now take place in late June. Battleground, which took place last October, will now be moved to July.
Though spacing them out more evenly is less critical this year with the WWE Network in place, WWE officials caught some flak last year for jamming so many together during September and October.

Bret Hart is currently touring the UK doing Q&A, and on Sunday, mentioned something interesting. He said that he believes his brother Owen will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year. Whether he is privy to inside information or it's just his feeling wasn't made clear, but most would consider Owen's induction long overdue.

Details are still sketchy on the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational at WrestleMania XXX, but it's noted on WWE.com that the match will have just one fall and Divas Champion AJ Lee could lose her title without being pinned.

It's said that Batista is regularly mocked backstage, but obviously not to his face, for the way he dresses. Batista's jeans ripping on Monday's RAW from Brooklyn didn't help his case any.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
Christian was pulled from last night's Main Event Intercontinental title match against Big E. Dolph Ziggler would end up winning a triple threat match over Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio for the vacant spot in the match and would lose to Big E later in the night.
But why was Christian pulled? Theories abound that it is some sort of work, and the broadcast attributed his absence to "a slight concussion."
Based on the info out there now, that actually does appear to be the case. Christian took a hard kick to the back of the head from Del Rio in the Fatal Four-Way on Raw and the concussion is being attributed to that.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 12
When asked in a recent interview, Hulk Hogan said to "never say never" when it comes to him potentially working another match, but that he'll never do another leg drop.
Hogan's back is in such poor shape that WWE officials feel he'll never be cleared for action again and Hogan himself has said previously that his spine is so compressed he's lost nearly 4 inches in height.
