Re: Spfl General Thread
Nice. How high is his potential do you think? Would he be able to manage clubs like Newcastle for example?

Re: Spfl General Thread
RG, I have thought it over quite a bit on McInnes and how he may translate to other clubs in the EPL, what his ceiling is.. And I have come to the very lame conclusion that its too early to reach one.
Next season, we'll have a better idea. Finishing top three and likely second place, Aberdeen will be in Europe next season facing a variety of competition and McInnes abilities to adapt will really be put to the test.
As it stands right now, the squad is so ridiculously thin that its really difficult to tell what results are due to lack of personnel or poor tactics/results of poor coaching. Though there should be a lot more money available for transfers this summer (by SPL standards at least) so McInnes ability on how to build a squad will be put to the test as well. He has done absolutely excellent so far, with the little options he's had, he addressed the squads weaknesses and slowly but surely improved at every opportunity. So he's off to a very good start. Loved the Rooney signing, but he definitely needs more fowards/midfielders of different styles and abilities because as the season went on the squad became a bit too predictable and really struggled to score more than once every game.
So, I guess, we'll have to wait and see

Re: Spfl General Thread
Am I the only one loving the addition of the second relegation spot? It's added so much excitement to the end of this season. These games have been crazy. If it wasn't for the second spot this would have been over before the season started and there would have been zero relegation drama.
Pulling for Hibs to stay up. If they go down with Jambos overall league attendances next year will be embarrassing . Hopefully Killie go down. Don't care for them. The have possibly the worst crest in all of football

FML. Ahead of Motherwell and in second practically the entire season... Only to lose and fall to third the last day

Amusing to think some Aberdeen fans were talking of challenging is next season and they couldn't even manage to finish 2nd this season. The SPFL has actually been very interesting this season other than title race, the play offs will be interesting.

Re: Spfl General Thread
Both Edimburgh clubs are relegated
I've rarely seen a club so loser - jinxed as Hibernian FC.
And duly they can't even enjoy for the announced relegation of his rival Hearts because the Hibs get relegated bottling , they won 0-2 the first round away , but they lose 2-0 at Edimburgh with goal conceded in last minute and then they lose to penalty kicks
Simply the Hibernian FC
You have to worry about bills, about food, about some football team that never *bleep* wins, about human relationships and all the things that really don't matter when you've got a sincere and truthful junk habit.

Re: Spfl General Thread
Lol yeah. I really can't help but feel for Hibs. There really aren't too many teams I feel sympathy for but they certainly are one.
Though tbh goin down might not be the worst thing in the world for them. They need a complete start over and this may help clean out the bad management. Plus they have some really great young players who should get more play time now in the championship. Sort of an upside to it like Fulham for example
Will be really interesting to see who comes out on top. I'm guess hearts will win the auto promotion.. And rangers will likely come in second if they don't get any points docked.
Imo I might watch more championship games next year than the top flight.

Re: Spfl General Thread
l don't really watch La Liga, but, RG, do we have ANY chance at all.. lol
l believe in Mclnnes, he got the team to play well and get results whenever they play against teams that are clearly higher in quality.. But l don't really know much about RS, or how good they are currently. Hoping for the best expecting the worst
This season will be so terrible without any sort of run in Europe. 3 out of the five biggest clubs in Scotland are currently in the championship ffs.

Re: Spfl General Thread
Wow! What a way to open the season.. The championship atleast lol
Too bad RWO doesn't watch, the goal keeper for Hibs scored the game winner yesterday lol
And amazing by hearts. Rangers equalized in stoppage time and it looked like they were off with a draw, but then Hearts answer again in the dying seconds to come away with a win
Please heroes of Edinbrugh, keep the Huns down

Re: Spfl General Thread
We are shit. Celtic look vulnerable. It's too bad nobody else in the top flight can mount a serious challenge
Hibs are shit and will be down in the seaside league for decades. Hearts should win the promotion. Shame they are down a tier they look better than most top flight sides. Gers with typical Ally-ball in a win

Re: Spfl General Thread
Gonna be a long wait for those games tbh. United will likely win.. But who knows we've been so up and down I'm hoping we hit good form by the time the game comes around.
Have no idea what the old firm outcome will be. I'd say there is more pressure on celtic
They are in a no win scenario. Everyone expects them to win. So if they win no big deal, Rangers have been through so much, anything other than being pumped for 4 or 5 will look bad.
But if they lose... Ffs, get ready for the meltdown seethe fest of the century from both sides.
If we beat United I hope Rangers win, I'd rather take my chances with them

Dons are ontop of the league by 4 points in January. For Spl standards I'd say that is bloody fantastic
Ffs. Trying to not get excited. But damn. Aberdeen have really pulled it together after a terrible start

Celtic have always had games in hand during that spell. We are now top with a game in hand and will win the league comfortably. Especially seeing as Aberdeen have reverted to there usual.

Looks like Rangers will be promoted. Hibs were more of a threat than Motherwell honestly.
Oh well. I still think they'll barely make top 6 next season
